It’s a big month for the Elbas!

Just a week after Idris Elba was named People’s 2018 Sexiest Man Alive, it has been announced that his 16-year-old daughter Isan has been selected as the 2019 Golden Globe Ambassador.

Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Meher Tatna made the announcement during a ceremony on Wednesday night (November 14) at the Four Seasons in Los Angeles.

Each year, the HFPA chooses a child of one of Hollywood’s most respected actors, director, or producers to help them raise money and awareness for a nonprofit organization of their choice.

“I feel honored to hold this title and use this role to not only further educate people on the work of the HFPA, but also shine a light on issues that I care about,” Isan shared during the event. “Mental health, specifically among African Americans and my peers in particular, is something I really want to be more vocal about. There’s this perceived stigma and I’ve seen friends struggle. We need to empower young people to not be afraid to ask for help.”

Isan will also be helping out during the ceremony next year by ushering presenters on and off stage and handing out awards.

The 2019 Golden Globes will take place on Sunday, January 6, 2019 on NBC.

Later that day, Idris even suited up and got behind the wheel while taking a car out for a ride on the tracks!

That night, Luke looked handsome in a metallic blue blazer at the Jaguar iPace Launch event.

Idris Elba had a little fun with Jimmy Fallon during his appearance on The Tonight Show on Monday (July 31) in New York City.

The 44-year-old actor played a game with the 42-year-old host called “Google Translate Songs” where they sang some famous tracks like Sir Mix A Lot‘s “Baby Got Back” and Boyz II Men‘s “I’ll Make Love to You,” but translated the lyrics using Google – which doesn’t always give you the exact translation.

That same evening, Idris switched up his outfit to join his daughter Isan Elba and her gal pal at the special New York screening of his latest film Dark Tower held at the New Museum of Modern Art.

Idris was also joined by his co-stars Kathryn Winnick, Abbey Lee, Fran Kranz, Tom Taylor, Michael Barbieri, Eva Kaminsky, director Nikolaj Arcel, as well as Whoopi Goldberg and Dionne Warwick, who came out to show their support.

FYI: Idris is wearing Gucci. Katheryn is wearing a Marchesa dress, Schutz shoes, Lorraine Schwartz ruby earrings and rings. Eva is wearing a Saloni dress.

Idris Elba has some fun on a broomstick while attending a VIP Screening of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone on Tuesday (July 1) at Leavesden Studios in Watford, England.

The 41-year-old Luther actor was joined at the event by his 12-year-old daughter Isan.

Idris became a new father back in April when he welcomed his son Winston with girlfriend Naiyana Garth.

He will have a great movie to show his kids next year when the new version of The Jungle Book is released. He is voicing the man-eating tiger Shere Khan.
