Eli Roth has executive produced a new short film called Chainsaw that might scare you away from visiting haunted houses this Halloween season!

The film follows a couple (Kirby Bliss Blanton and Logan Paul) as they visit a haunted house and are terrorized by a man with a chainsaw who isn’t actually part of the attraction, as some in the venue seem to think.

Also appearing in the short film are James Frey as Chainsaw, Nikki Gray as the makeup assistant, the film’s co-director David Dinetz as the man in the booth, and there’s even a cameo appearance from JustJared.com‘s Jared Eng!

David directed the short film alongside Dylan Trussell and it was produced by CryptTV’s Jack Davis and Andrew Alter along with executive producers Steve Harris, Jon Sheinberg, and Nick Sheinberg.

Chainsaw is an interactive digital story and the video concluded with Eli and directors Culprit Creative extending a unique invitation to fans: build Chainsaw’s backstory and mythology with YOUR ideas and give your take on what should happen in the feature version. By going to WhoIsChainsaw.com and entering their email addresses fans will unlock the short and be invited to submit their ideas on where Chainsaw came from and where his story should go next.

Eli Roth and social media star Nick Bateman get ready for a scene while filming a murder mystery that unfolded live over Snapchat on Sunday night (July 19) at a private home in Bel Air, Calif.

In addition to Nick, social media celebs like Logan Paul, Jake Paul, Lia Marie Johnson, Alex Burriss, Jack Baran, and more participated in the live event.

The event was produced by CryptTV, co-founded by Eli and Jack Davis. Showing her support on set that evening was Eli‘s wife, actress Lorenza Izzo.

“At CryptTV we love pushing the digital envelope and finding new ways of telling stories. Snapchat is fun precisely because it’s a live event, you have to see it in that 24 hour window or you missed being a part of it,” Eli told JustJared.com. “We loved collaborating with [directors] Culprit Creative to tell a fun, gruesome murder mystery with the top tier social talent. Everyone in the room is a great storyteller, and we all collaborated pitching in with ideas to create the first story told on Snapchat. People are already rewatching to guess the killer, and the answer will be revealed tonight [Monday, July 20] at 7:00 PST on our channel. It was too much fun, we’re already planning ideas for another event.”
