James Middleton is opening up in a new Tatler feature, in which he discusses his famous family and his business ventures.

Here is what the 32-year-old businessman had to share with the mag:

On being guarded when it comes to anything relating to the Middletons or to the royals: “I lead a separate life to them. If there’s interest in me, great. If there’s interest in me because of them, that’s different.”

On being judged on his various businesses: “Suddenly, and very publicly, I was being judged about whether I was a success or a failure. That does put pressure on you. Because in my mind I’m doing this irrespective of my family and events that have happened.”

On his depression: “[The depression was] crippling. It’s what keeps you in bed, while anxiety makes you feel guilty for being there. I thought ‘What do I have to be depressed about?’ I’ve been so lucky with my upbringing, I had all the things I wanted. It’s not that I wanted more, but there was something that wasn’t always there… And the more I ignored it, the more it was taking over.”

On his life currently: “I am happy. I feel like James Middleton again. I feel like I was when I was 13, excited about life. I feel like myself again and I couldn’t ask for more.”

James Middleton, the younger brother of Duchess Kate Middleton and Pippa Middleton, takes his dogs for a bike ride on Wednesday (April 24) in London, England.

It looks like the 32-year-old Londoner used a special kind of bike to transport three of his dogs around town. James actually owns several dogs – fans have counted at least 8!

Earlier this year, James made his Instagram account public and later, opened up about his battle with depression.

James Middleton, the younger brother to Duchess Kate Middleton and Pippa Middleton, recently spoke out about his battle with depression and being diagnosed with attention-deficit disorder (ADD).

Now, he’s given a bit of an update on his Instagram account.

“I’ve been in that angst of loneliness, where you’re really alone in the universe,” James posted on his Instagram post showing a selfie of him in the mountains with one of his dogs. “Luckily for me I had my dogs.”

James Middleton, the younger brother of Kate and Pippa, is bravely opening up about his secret struggle with depression and being diagnosed with attention-deficit disorder (ADD).

The 31-year-old businessman wrote an op-ed piece for The Daily Mail, which was published just one day after his Instagram account went public.

“I know I’m richly blessed and live a privileged life. But it did not make me immune to depression,” James wrote in the article. “It is tricky to describe the condition. It is not merely sadness. It is an illness, a cancer of the mind.”

“It’s not a feeling but an absence of feelings,” he said. “You exist without purpose or direction. I couldn’t feel joy, excitement or anticipation–only heart-thudding anxiety propelled me out of bed in the morning. I didn’t actually contemplate suicide—but I didn’t want to live in the state of mind I was in either.”

James sought help in 2016 and discovered he had an irregular heartbeat due to stress and anxiety, but he did not address his depression until the end of 2017.

The decision to speak out stems from his sister’s work in the mental health field. He said, “This is precisely what my brother-in-law Prince William, my sister Catherine and Prince Harry are advocating through their mental health charity Heads Together.”

“People have asked me, too, if my public profile has made it harder for me. Would I have become so depressed if I hadn’t been subject to the pressure of public scrutiny that comes with my association with the Royal Family?” he added. “The answer is, I believe I would. But I wouldn’t have found a voice or an outlet for my story if it hadn’t been for the people I’m related to. And that puts me in a unique position of privilege and trust. I feel I have a duty to speak out, so I can help others who are suffering as I did.”

James Middleton has an Instagram account and it’s finally public!

The 31-year-old younger brother of Kate and Pippa has been posting on the account since July 2013 and there are currently 181 posts for you to see on the page.

James has at least eight dogs and he loved to post about them on his page.

Among the celebs who follow James are Royal Family friend Ellie Goulding and his brother-in-law Spencer Matthews.

James Middleton is cuddling up with someone new!

The 31-year-old younger brother of the Duchess of Cambridge was spotted with his new girlfriend Alizee Thevenet on a family holiday alongside good friends Spencer Matthews (brother of Pippa Middleton‘s husband, James Matthews) and his wife Vogue Williams on Wednesday (January 2) in St. Barts, France.

Pippa and James were also seen enjoying their time together on their vacation at the beach just a few months after welcoming their son, Arthur Michael William.

Pippa Middleton and her husband James Matthews hold hands while leaving St. Luke’s Church after a Christmas Carol service on Tuesday (December 4) in London, England.

The married couple was joined by her brother James Middleton and his girlfriend Donna Air. Their parents were there as well!

That same evening, Kate Middleton looked absolutely stunning while attending a Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace.

This is the first time that Pippa has stepped out for an official event since welcoming her son Arthur Michael William back in October.
