The Incredible Dr. Pol is making more television history tonight!
The Nat Geo Wild series, which centers on Dr. Jan Pol and his veterinary staff in rural Michigan, will not only debut a brand new season, but also be celebrating 200 episodes!
With the 200th episode, this officially makes the series the longest running vet series ever.
The Crocodile Hunter which ran from 1996 to 2007 has a total of 78 episodes, and Dr. Pol‘s channel mate Dr. Oakley Yukon Vet is the second longest running series with a total of 85 episodes.
“A lot of people didn’t think a TV program about a farm vet would be popular — and I was the first one to think that,” Dr. Pol admitted in his memoir, “Never Turn Your Back on an Angus Cow”. “But the love for animals shared by the staff, the crew, and all of our viewers has made the show more popular than anyone could have imagined.”
Tune into the season 20 premiere of The Incredible Dr. Pol TONIGHT, July 16 at 9 p.m. on Nat Geo Wild. Episodes are also available to stream on Disney+.
