Beanie Feldstein Announces Final Show in 'Funny Girl' on Broadway - Read Her Statement

Beanie Feldstein has announced that she will be leaving the Broadway production of Funny Girl.

The 28-year-old actress is currently playing the iconic role of Fanny Brice in the first-ever Broadway revival of the classic musical.

The production didn’t get the best reviews and was almost entirely shut out at the Tony Awards, which took place this past weekend.

Jane Lynch, who is playing Fanny’s mother in the show, will leave the production on the same date while Ramin Karimloo and Tony-nominated star Jared Grimes will continue in their roles of Nick Arnstein and Eddie Ryan.

Sutton Foster Wins Special Award for Best Performance of the Entire Broadway Season!

Sutton Foster just won one of the biggest honors in the Broadway community!

The two-time Tony-winning actress was presented the Distinguished Performance Award during the 2022 Drama League Awards on Friday afternoon (May 20) in New York City.

The annual awards show honors just one acting performance for the entire theatrical season, encompassing all of Broadway and off-Broadway.

Sutton won the award for her performance in The Music Man and her co-star Hugh Jackman received the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theatre award. Actors can only win the Distinguished Performance Award once in their career and Hugh won almost 20 years ago for starring in Broadway’s The Boy From Oz, so he was ineligible for The Music Man.

The production is currently in previews ahead of an official opening night on April 24.

Funny Girl, which launched the career of Barbra Streisand, features the iconic songs “Don’t Rain on My Parade, “I’m the Greatest Star,” and “People.”
