We’re getting a new sneak peek at HBO’s upcoming series The Idol.

On Tuesday (May 30), HBO debuted a brand new trailer for the upcoming drama series starring The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp.

Here’s a plot summary: “After a nervous breakdown derailed Jocelyn’s (Depp) last tour, she’s determined to claim her rightful status as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America. Her passions are reignited by Tedros (The Weeknd), a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or the deepest, darkest, depths of her soul?”

Jennie Kim is making her HBO debut!

The 26-year-old BLACKPINK star- billed as Jennie Ruby Jane – is among the many celebrities featured in the latest teaser of The Weeknd‘s upcoming project, The Idol, coming soon to HBO.

The Idol, set against the backdrop of the music industry, centers on a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult, who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol. The series was being directed by The Girlfriend Experience‘s Amy Seimetz, but she stepped out of the production by April. The series was then reworked with changes to its cast and crew.
