Jerry Bruckheimer is speaking out.
The producer sat down for an interview, and he was asked about rumors and speculation that Johnny Depp may be asked to eventually return to the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise.
Jerry worked on all five Pirates movies with Johnny, including 2013′s The Lone Ranger.

The cast of Top Gun: Maverick reunited for an awards season screening, though Tom Cruise was unable to attend.
Miles Teller, Jay Ellis, Monica Barbaro, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Greg Tarzan Davis, Lewis Pullman, and Danny Ramirez were all at the event on Wednesday (December 7) at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.
Also in attendance were director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
The screening was held amid all of the awards buzz that the film is receiving. It’s expected that Top Gun: Maverick will get a Best Picture nomination at the 2023 Oscars and likely several other noms.
The winners of the 2022 National Board of Review Awards were just announced and Top Gun picked up the award for Top Film.
The movie is currently playing again in theaters and it’s also available on 4K Disc, Blu-ray and Digital.

Many of the guys headed straight to the fans who were in attendance, and made time to sign autographs and get a pic with the crowd before heading inside the event.
Jerry‘s wife Linda, and Miles‘ wife, Keleigh Sperry, were also at the premiere.
Just four weeks into release, Top Gun: Maverick has become the biggest hit of the year domestically, with over $473 million in the bank stateside, and nearly $900 million worldwide, according to Collider.

The trio were joined by a lot of their co-stars in the flick, including Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Jon Hamm, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, and Greg Tarzan Davis, along with director Joseph Kosinski, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie.
While on the red carpet Miles and his wife Keleigh Sperry, shared a couple of sweet kisses, before fighter jets flew over the carpet in tribute to the film.
Tom also received a surprise Palme d’Or award at the event.
Viola Davis and her husband Julius Tennon, Elle Fanning, Eva Longoria, Wallis Day, Jasmine Tookes, Josephine Skriver, pregnant Adriana Lima, Toni Garrn, Katherine Langford, Pom Klementieff, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were also at the premiere.

Jerry Bruckheimer is echoing Johnny Depp‘s statements about his future with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
The director spoke to The Sunday Times about the future of the franchise, just weeks after Johnny testified about his involvement during his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.
Jerry indicated that it would be unlikely that Johnny would return to a potential sixth movie to play Captain Jack Sparrow.
“Not at this point,” he said when asked about the subject. “The future is yet to be decided.”
Although, Jerry did ay that he’s looking at another actor to lead more Pirates movies.

A bidding war is currently happening between major studios and streamers for an upcoming racing movie starring Brad Pitt.
The 57-year-old Oscar-winning actor is attached to star in a racing project that will be directed by Joseph Kosinski, who is best known for directing movies like Oblivion, Tron: Legacy, and the upcoming Top Gun: Maverick.
