Catherine Zeta-Jones Wants Women To Support & Hold Each Other Up!

Catherine Zeta-Jones‘ new series Feud may revolve around the infamous rivalry between Joan Crawford and Bette Davis, but she certainty doesn’t posses the same perspective as the legendary Oscar winners.

“I think their feud was out of fear and fear of losing what they had,” the 47-year-old actress expressed while attending the Feud: Tastemaker Dinner held at The Monkey Bar on Monday (February 13) in New York City (via Vogue).

“Today I feel like women should really hold onto one another and hold each other up, not push each other down. I’m a big fan of ‘there’s room for everybody’,” Catherine added. “There’s room and time and space and moments in life of ups and downs, but sometimes your moment is going to be much higher than mine. As women, I think we have to applaud it and support it and hold each other up.”

Also in attendance at the special dinner was Catherine‘s co-stars Susan Sarandon, Jessica Lange, Alison Wright, Kiernan Shipka, show creator Ryan Murphy, Martha Stewart, and directors Paul Feig and Damien Chazelle, who came out to show their support.

FYI: Catherine is wearing a Pamella Roland cocktail dress.

Jessica Lange Channels Famous Women in History For NY Mag

Jessica Lange is channeling some of the world’s most famous women.

The Academy Award winning actress recreated portraits of eight famous women from history including Frida Kahlo, Mae West and Gloria Steinem for New York Magazine.

“I don’t think that much has changed in Hollywood for women,” Jessica explained in the feature, adding that not much has changed on a national political level either.

Jessica also opened up about her upcoming role as Joan Crawford in Ryan Murphy‘s new anthology series on FX, Feud.

“You do study every breath, every beat, but it can’t just be imitation…we tried to do similar makeup and hair, of course, but that was the extent of the mimicry. And the voice. She had a very melodic way of speaking. It would rise and fall, and it was studied,” she said.

Susan stars as Bette Davis and Jessica stars as Joan Crawford and the show centers around their famous feud from their days of filming Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?.

“I wasn’t interested in just doing this broad, campy [show],” creator Ryan Murphy said. “I was interested in the idea of sexism, ageism, misogyny. Turning 40, 45, 50 and feeling like you’re at the height of your powers and people saying, ‘Well, you’re done.’”

Feud is set to debut on March 5!

Feud's Jessica Lange & Susan Sarandon Discuss How Hollywood Treats Older Actresses

Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon are starring in the upcoming FX series Feud and they have opened up about the opportunities being given to older actresses and how not much has changed over the years.

The ladies were joined by co-stars Catherine Zeta Jones, Kiernan Shipka, and Alison Wright, along with series creator Ryan Murphy, at the 2017 Winter Television Critics Association Press Tour on Thursday (January 12) at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, Calif.

“I don’t think it’s changed that much really to tell you the truth,” Jessica said (via Mashable). “It’s not necessarily a question of age or looks. I think it is who is interested in these stories. If the powers that be don’t find there is anything valuable or interesting in a story about a woman of a certain age, those films aren’t going to get made.”

“The line has been pushed,” Susan added. “But aging actors still have the same problems. I can guarantee that.”
