Outlander is finally returning for season three this weekend, so we decided this is the perfect time to take a Throwback Thursday look into the JustJared.com archives for never-before-seen photos from our JJ Spotlight shoot with star Sam Heughan!

Before the show ever started airing, we took a flight to Scotland to meet up with Sam on set and get to know him ahead of his rise to fame.

JustJared.com‘s editor-in-chief Jared Eng, photographer Justin Campbell, and stylist Monty Jackson were all on set at Dumbarton Castle for the photo shoot with Sam.

Three years ago when we released the Spotlight shoot, we gave fans a look at some behind-the-scenes photos. Well, we found even more great shots for you all to see!

Actresses Ellie Bamber and Coco König are two young stars who have bright futures in Hollywood and they’ve been chosen to star in our October 2016 Just Jared Spotlight!

Ellie is featured in Tom Ford‘s highly anticipated new film Nocturnal Animals, which features a star-studded cast including Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Armie Hammer, Isla Fisher, Michael Shannon and more. Look out for the movie on December 9! You may also remember Ellie for her role in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and you’ll be seeing her on the big screen next year in Extracurricular Activities!

Coco is an up and coming star who landed a role in this December’s film Assassin’s Creed, also starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard! Due in theaters on December 21, the film is based on the very popular video game series. Coco is not only busy filming – she’s also in school! She’s busy studying history and political science at New York University while maintaining a career in acting.

Asa Butterfield and Anya Taylor-Joy are two names that you should keep your eye on and they are the September 2016 cover stars for Just Jared Spotlight.

The two young stars are both featured in projects that are getting a lot of buzz this month!

Asa is playing the lead roles in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, out in theaters on September 30, and The Space Between Us, which will be released this holiday season. He is best known for playing the title role in Hugo and for his work in The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and Ender’s Game.

Anya just made a big splash at the Toronto Film Festival with her new film Barry, which sold to Netflix after a bidding war between studios. She also starred opposite Kate Mara in the sci-fi thriller Morgan, which was released earlier this month, and played the lead in last year’s horror film The Witch.

The Atomics, the family band made up of hot young stars Lucky Blue Smith, Pyper America Smith, Starlie Smith, and Daisy Clementine Smith, are the Summer 2016 cover stars for Just Jared Spotlight.

The band is prepping for the release of its debut album and some of them have lucrative modeling careers at the same time!

Daisy was signed by Next LA when she was just 14 and it wasn’t long before the agency also signed Pyper and Lucky. The siblings have since been shooting campaigns and walking runways for some of the top fashion brands.

Starlie, the lead vocalist for the band, opened up about how they transitioned from playing surf rock with no vocals to the music they are making now. “Once we learned our instruments more and got better, that’s when I was like, ‘Let’s stop doing the instrumental thing and make our own music. I want to sing.’ So that’s kind of how it happened,” she said.

The band also opened up about what’s coming up for The Atomics, making the move from Utah to Los Angeles, who’s single and who’s taken, and what they love most about living the dream as a family.

Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the hit HBO series Game of Thrones and will soon be soon as Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse, is the May 2016 cover star for Just Jared Spotlight.

The 21-year-old actress is one of the few people who have access to knowing all the secrets to the sixth season of GoT, though she doesn’t indulge! Sophie says she only reads her scenes in each script so she can watch the show and be surprised just like everyone else.

“I haven’t read anyone else’s parts in the script, I only know my part. Not because I’m lazy, but because I wanted to watch it as a fan so I can only really tease you about my stuff,” Sophie told us in our exclusive interview.

Sophie also opened up to us about why she wants Sansa to die eventually, what happened when Jennifer Lawrence punched her in the vagina, and the advice she got from X-Men‘s original Jean Grey, Famke Janssen.

The 21-year-old actress might have been born into a Hollywood family (her mom is Lea Thompson of Back to the Future fame while her dad Howard Deutch has directed everything from Pretty in Pink to True Blood), but she has carved her own path in the industry in a short amount of time.

Zoey got her start on Disney Channel before playing Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s daughter on Ringer and later starring as the lead in the young adult film Vampire Academy.

Now, Zoey is working with top directors in the business like Richard Linklater and has an impressive slate of films coming out in the next year.
