The new Ari Aster film Beau Is Afraid, starring Joaquin Phoenix, is now playing in IMAX theaters in NY and LA ahead of a wide release next weekend.

Joaquin Phoenix Is All Smiles for L.A. Premiere of His New Movie 'Beau Is Afraid'

Joaquin Phoenix and director Ari Aster have brought their new film Beau Is Afraid to L.A.

The guys were on the red carpet for the A24 film’s west coast premiere on Monday night (April 10) at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles.

Also in attendance were co-stars Zoe Lister-Jones, Parker Posey, Kylie Rogers, Julia Antonelli, Richard Kind, Michael Gandolfini, and Armen Nahapetian, who plays the younger version of Joaquin.

In Beau Is Afraid, a paranoid man goes on an epic odyssey in order to get back home. The A24 film will be released in New York and Los Angeles on April 14 and everywhere on April 21. Watch the new trailer!

Some of the special guests who attended the premiere included Kesha, Chloe Cherry, Rachel Sennott and Glee‘s Darren Criss and Harry Shum Jr. See their pics in the gallery.

Joaquin Phoenix Joins 'Beau Is Afraid' Cast at NYC Screening - Watch the New Trailer!

Joaquin Phoenix kept a low profile at a screening for his highly anticipated new movie Beau Is Afraid.

The 48-year-old Oscar-winning actor joined writer and director Ari Aster along with most of his co-stars at the New York City screening on Thursday (April 6) at Metrograph in downtown Manhattan.

Also in attendance were Amy Ryan, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Kylie Rogers, Armen Nahapetian, and Julia Antonelli.

In Beau Is Afraid, a paranoid man goes on an epic odyssey in order to get back home. The A24 film will be released in New York and Los Angeles on April 14 and everywhere on April 21. Watch the new trailer below!

Also starring in the movie are Nathan Lane, Patti LuPone, and Parker Posey.

For those who don’t know, Ari is the director of horror films Hereditary and Midsommar.

That’s a wrap for Joker: Folie à Deux!

The highly anticipated sequel to Joker, which has been filming around New York City in the past week, just finished filming, director Todd Phillips confirmed.

“That’s a wrap. Thanks to these two (+ the entire cast) and the BEST crew that the film industry has to offer. From top to bottom. Gonna crawl into a cave now (edit room) and put it all together,” Todd wrote on Instagram, along with two new photos of Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix in Joker and Harley Quinn mode.

The two were spotted doing a little song and dance together while filming new scenes for Folie à Deux in New York City over the past weekend.

Lady Gaga & Joaquin Phoenix Sing & Dance; Rescue Crew Member After Fall on 'Joker 2' Set

Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix do a little song and dance together while filming new scenes for Folie à Deux in New York City on Sunday (April 2).

The two stars spotted walking up and down, performing their number on the “Joker” stairs, which connect Shakespeare and Anderson avenues in The Bronx.

At one point during the scene, both Gaga and Joaquin rushed to help a crew member after they fell over the railing.

The two helped to pull the crew member back onto the solid ground of the stairs and made sure they were uninjured before resuming filming.

Just the day before, Gaga was seen without her makeup for Harley Quinn and went barefoot while chatting with director Todd Phillips.

The 48-year-old Joker actor stars in the movie alongside the likes of Patti LuPone.

During a recent event, director Ari Aster revealed that Joaquin had fainted while they were filming. Incidentally, his very famous co-star was involved with the accident.
