John David Washington Would Say Yes Immediately to Playing This Marvel Superhero

John David Washington is opening up about possibly joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe one day!

The 36-year-old actor stars in the new movie Tenet and he chatted with Nerd Reactor while promoting the film.

“I mean, there’s so many,” he said when asked about which superhero he’d want to play. “I think it depends who’s asking, what director wants to do it with me. We’ll see. I want to stay open. I don’t want to box myself in. Maybe there’s characters that haven’t even been mentioned yet or developed or introduced in any of the films yet. I’d like to see what they come up with if they ever ask,” John David said.

JDW was then asked if Kevin Feige offered him the role of Reed Richards from Fantastic Four, what would he say?

“Wow, I’d say, ‘Well, thank you for having me, thank you for taking this meeting. Where do I sign?”

John David Washington Really Wants To Do A 'Tenet' Sequel

John David Washington is sharing his thoughts on a possible sequel to Tenet, and is on board for a second film.

The 36-year-old actor stars as The Protagonist in the film from Christopher Nolan, opposite Robert Pattinson, and spoke with Esquire about the chance of a second movie.

“In my mind, that’s a yes!” he said enthusiastically. “We will be doing this again, we’ll see you in a couple of years.”

However, “in reality, I don’t know.”

“Chris does what he wants. Maybe he has something that he’s developed for years that he wants to do next, maybe he’s been inspired by something else he sees and wants to do that, I don’t know,” John David added. “I hope we get to do it again, I hope we get to explore more, because I think we found something really unique.”

Tenet hasn’t exactly been a box office hit in the United States, as it struggled to reach $30 million just 10 days after its release, due in part to many theaters still being closed across the nation.

However, it has been more of a hit overseas and has passed the $250 million mark.

“At the same time, he did a lot of work in the community and he spoke openly about our community’s relationship in Hollywood,” John said. “He had a global impact, being the face of one of the biggest franchises of all time in our industry.”

'Tenet' Movie Reviews Revealed - See What Critics Thought!

We’re just days away from Christopher Nolan‘s highly anticipated movie Tenet being released in areas across the globe and the first reviews have been released!

A select group of critics were given the chance to see the movie before the rest of the world and the Rotten Tomatoes score at the time of this posting is a strong 82% fresh rating.

Even though the film currently has a high score, there are only 38 reviews and the number could change when more reviews are posted. Most of the reviews out there right now seem to be mixed. The website’s critics consensus says, “A visually dazzling puzzle for film lovers to unlock, Tenet serves up all the cerebral spectacle audiences expect from a Christopher Nolan production.”

TheWrap‘s Nicholas Barber said, “In the end, Tenet isn’t one of Nolan‘s most satisfying films. But after I’ve seen it four or five more times, maybe I’ll change my mind.”

The Hollywood Reporter‘s Leslie Felperin said, “Altogether, it makes for a chilly, cerebral film – easy to admire, especially since it’s so rich in audacity and originality, but almost impossible to love, lacking as it is in a certain humanity.”

The Guardian‘s Catherine Shoard said, “The world is more than ready for a fabulous blockbuster… It’s a real shame Tenet isn’t it.”

Tenet will hit select theaters in the U.S. on September 3.
