On Monday (April 4), the fire broke out in Bray Studios in Windsor, where season two of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is currently being filmed.

Amazon Studios Boss Talks Joseph Mawle Exiting 'Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' & Future of Season 2

Joseph Mawle announced and addressed his exit from Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power earlier this month, just as Prime Video revealed the new actors who were joining the show.

At the time, the 48-year-old actor told fans that his exit was because his job as an actor is “to explore new characters and worlds.”

In a new interview, Vernon Sanders, Head of Global TV for Amazon Studios, opened up about Joseph‘s exit and what season two is going to look like for fans.

'The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power' Teases A New Legend From Middle Earth in Super Bowl Commercial

The first teaser for Amazon Prime’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is officially here!

Here’s the official synopsis for the upcoming series: “Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth.”

“From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.”

The series will star Ismael Cruz Cordova, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Lloyd Owen, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman, and Sara Zwangobani.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will premiere in September on Prime Video.

'Lord of the Rings' Amazon Series: Full Cast Revealed

Amazon’s new Lord of the Rings series has set its main cast!

Robert Aramayo, Nazanin Boniadi, and Owain Arthur will all be starring in the new show, Variety reports.

Rounding out the cast are Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, and Charlie Vickers. J.A. Bayona is set to direct multiple episodes.

“After undertaking an extensive global search, we are delighted finally to reveal the first group of brilliant performers who will take part in Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings series,” said showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. “These exceptionally talented women and men are more than just our actors: they are the newest members of an ever-expanding creative family that is now working tirelessly to bring Middle-earth to life anew for fans and audiences worldwide.”

Production will begin in February.

Not much is known about the plot of the Lord of the Rings series except that it will look into new storylines preceding J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Fellowship of the Ring.” The show’s official Twitter account posted a map along with the messages: “One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them, In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie” and “Welcome to the Second Age.”

'Lord of the Rings' Amazon Series Finds Its Villain

The upcoming Lord of the Rings TV series has cast its main villain!

The highly anticipated Amazon series will star Game of Thrones alum Joseph Mawle, according to THR.

Joseph is believed to be playing a villain named Oren.

The show’s cast also includes Will Poulter and Australian actress Markella Kavenagh.

Not much is else known about the new series, except that it will take place before the events in Lord of the Rings‘ first book The Fellowship of the Ring.
