Joy Behar Reveals When She'll Retire From 'The View'

Joy Behar is planning to retire from The View when her contract ends in the summer of 2022.

The 77-year-old co-host revealed the news in “Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of ‘The View’” by Variety’s Ramin Setoodeh.

“I have a three-year contract,” Joy said in the book. “But that doesn’t mean I can’t leave if I want to, because they can’t really do anything to me at this point. I don’t see myself staying for more [time]. That’s it! I could be wrong. If I’m as fabulous in [2022] as I am now, I’ll think about. But the chances of that happening…You know, time marches on. I’m not a kid.”

Meghan McCain Calls Joy Behar a 'Bitch' on 'The View' While Discussing Donald Trump

Meghan McCain called Joy Behar a “bitch” on The View.

The co-hosts, ages 34 and 76, respectively, shared the exchange while talking about Donald Trump‘s 2020 campaign on Wednesday (June 19).

“Sometimes it’s not just that they love Trump so much, it’s that they hate the same things Trump hates,” Meghan said about Trump‘s supporters. “That’s what’s going on.”

After Joy kept asking, “Who do they hate?” Meghan remarked, “You know what, Joy? I really come here every day open-minded just trying to explain it, and it’s not a fun job for me every day. I know you’re angry. I get that you’re angry that Trump’s president like a lot of people are, but I don’t think yelling at me is going to fix the problem.”

Meghan then called herself the talk show’s “sacrificial Republican,” to which Joy replied, “Aww.”

“Oh don’t feel bad for me bitch, I’m paid to do this, OK,” Meghan said. “Don’t feel bad for me.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in, “Let’s not start calling each other bitches,” and Meghan McCain responded, “Oh, Joy Behar and I call each other bitch all the time.”

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg then cut to commercial.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Tried to Quit 'The View' in the Middle of a Commercial Break in 2006 - Listen!

Elisabeth Hasselbeck tried to quit The View in the middle of a commercial break in 2006.

In the newly released Ladies Who Punch: The Explosive Inside Story of ‘The View, author Ramin Setoodeh revealed that on August 2, 2006, Elisabeth was arguing with Barbara Walters and Joy Behar about a proposal to make the morning-after pill available over-the-counter.

“Could you stop now? We have to go on and we have to learn how to discuss these things in some sort of rational way,” Barbara said on-air.

“F–k that!” Elisabeth screamed backstage in newly surfaced audio.

“I’m not going to sit there and get reprimanded on the air. It’s not okay to sit there and get reprimanded on the air!”

“What the f–k! I’m not going back out there…I don’t even swear. She has me swearing. This woman is driving me nuts. I’m not going back. I can’t do the show like this. She just reprimanded me, and she knew exactly what she was doing. Good-bye! I’m off. Write about that in the New York F–KING Post!”

“I’m quitting…I’m over, I’m leaving…Barbara just fully reprimanded me,” she angrily declared before ultimately agreeing to going back on-air.

Kid Rock Will Not Apologize for Sentiment of His Joy Behar Diss

Kid Rock has released a statement addressing what he said about Joy Behar on Fox & Friends.

The 47-year-old musician was on the Fox News morning show when he said, “God forbid you say something a little bit wrong — you’re racist,’ ‘homophobic,’ ‘Islamophobic,’ this, that and the other. People need to calm down, get a little less politically correct. I would say love everybody — except I’d say screw that Joy Behar bitch.”

Kid Rock was fired from his role as the grand marshal of the Nashville Christmas Parade after he made the statement.

On Facebook, Kid Rock wrote, “I apologized for cursing on live tv, I will not for my sentiment nor do I expect an apology from her or anyone else who has choice words for me or doesn’t like me.”
