Penelope Cruz is taken by surprise as she sees so many fans at the premiere of her new movie, On The Fringe, during the 2022 San Sebastian Film Festival held at Victoria Eugenia Theatre on Friday (September 16) in San Sebastian, Spain.
The 48-year-old actress sparkled in black floor length gown next to co-stars Luis Tosar and Juan Diego Botto for the event.
Ahead of posing for pictures on the red carpet, Penelope received a handful of gifts from waiting fans before she signed autographs for them on the line.
On The Fringe, which is also directed by Juan, centers on three interwoven stories, in which three people try to stay afloat and survive 24 key hours that may forever change the course of their lives.
The upcoming film, directed by Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker James Gunn, features a ton of superstars and familiar faces from 2016′s Suicide Squad, including Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang.
John Cena‘s Peacemaker is also in the film, and he is getting his own HBO Max spinoff.
Here’s a plot summary: “Welcome to hell—a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out—even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and-destroy mission with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave…and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them.”
A brand new teaser for the upcoming movie The Suicide Squad has been revealed and the entire cast and their characters were unveiled in the clip!
The teaser was played during the film’s panel at DC Fandome, a live-streamed event for the DC Universe.
Some of the stars from the 2016 movie Suicide Squad are reprising their roles in the new film, including Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang.
“The Suicide Squad is by far the most fun I’ve ever had making a movie,” director James Gunn told fans during the panel. “The character I was most excited to write for was Harley Quinn there’s a chaotic, trickster god [element] to her.”
The film’s producer Peter Safran said that the project is “a total reboot… everything you would hope from a James Gunn script and I think that says a lot and that promises a lot and I know that we will deliver a lot.”

That same evening, Michelle switched outfits to make an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote the new TNT series, where she plays Letty Dobesh, a thief and con artist whose life is always one wrong turn, one bad decision, from implosion. Which is just how she likes it. Fresh out of prison, she’s attempting to stay afloat. But when she overhears a hit man being hired to kill a man’s wife, she sets out to derail the job, sending her on a wild collision course with the charming killer, and entangling them in dangerous, seductive relationship.

Good Behavior centers on Letty Raines (Dockery), a thief and addict who is doing a terrible job of reforming her life after getting out of prison. Things only get worse for Letty when she gets romantically entangled with a hit man while trying to stop him from killing an innocent woman. The show is set to premiere on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 9/8c on TNT!
