Julie Bowen Books Post-'Modern Family' Role With CBS Comedy

Julie Bowen isn’t leaving the small screen when Modern Family ends this spring.

The 50-year-old actress has been cast in CBS’s Raised By Wolves sitcom, THR reports.

From Will & Grace creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, the series centers on Frankie, a very successful and fiercely independent crisis manager whose world is turned upside down when she decides to let someone into her life for the first time — an 11-year-old girl she adopts and raises with the occasional help of her fragile, nervous wreck of a sister.

Frankie, meanwhile, is a totally put-together powerhouse whose aggressive, blunt-talking style belies damage incurred while being literally raised by Wolfes — her parents, Barbara and Arnie.

A few of Julie‘s Modern Family co-stars have also lined up their next projects. See what Sarah Hyland and Sofia Vergara are doing next!

Julie Bowen Tells 'Ellen' She Wants To Skip 'Modern Family's Final Cry Fest!

Julie Bowen makes an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing Wednesday (February 5), to dish all about the eleventh and final season of her long-running hit series Modern Family.

The 49-year-old actress explains to Ellen why she doesn’t want to stick around for the “crying fest” that will inevitably happen when they wrap the final season of Modern Family.

“I’ve already done a fair amount of crying, but it comes out of the blue. Whenever somebody wants me to cry about it, I can’t,” Bowen tells Ellen.

“I’ve definitely done the walking around and saying to people, ‘I love you, working together has been amazing, but come that last day I’m out of here. I’m going to be gone. I’m not hanging out for the crying fest’,” Julie continues. “Because I imagine it’s going to be like a big amoeba of weeping, just sort of people hugging and crying. I can’t do it. I am not that kind of a human. I need to cry alone.”

Plus, Julie chats about going on a safari in Africa with her three sons, and having to hold back the urge to reach out and touch the wild animals.
