“He’s a pick up your boot straps kinda dad. Don’t cry, shake it off you’re ok, kinda dad. Don’t let ‘em push you around you got this, kinda dad,” she continued. “Don’t listen to the noise you’re doing great, kinda dad. Shake those hips like no ones watching, kinda dad. Always get back on the horse, kinda dad. Never miss a show or game, kinda dad. Kids before anything, kinda dad. Work hard play hard, kinda dad. My girl can rule the world, kinda dad. His laugh will echo through generations as powerful as his concocted stories of grandeur that may or may not be true (may we never know).”

Kate added, “He’s an original. One of kind. A powerful, intelligent, talented, loyal family man. He has taught me that we can all exist with immense love through our differences. And his dedication to my mother and their fight for love forever is as admirable as it gets. I love this man so much!”

“A note for all dads of girls. He gave me the gift of confidence instilling a knowingness in me that I deserved everything I worked for and I knew that he’d always have my back in whatever challenges may lay ahead,” Kate concluded. “When you have a dad who gives you permission to be confident you live courageously. And that’s my insta love letter to my dad who has lived 70 years today. ❤️ Happy Birthday Pa. How bout we give some big Hip Hip Hoorays to this wild man!”

Kate Hudson Reveals What She Wants to Do Beyond Acting

Kate Hudson is talking about future plans.

The Music actress is on the cover of Women’s Health‘s April 2021 issue, out on newsstands on March 16.

Here’s what she had to say…

On wellness: “I’ve always felt that wellness is about your quality of life. You need to know what makes you feel good. It’s about doing the things you love, eating the things you want to, exercising and not feeling like you need to [push yourself] for two hours in a hot room. You can just take a nice walk and still be healthy.”

On fueling her imagination during the pandemic: “For innately creative people, when we get the space to daydream, it’s a gift. Then you come out and hopefully have all these ideas.”

On filming another rom-com: “I will definitely do rom-coms again. But I haven’t been happy with the way people try to convince me a rom-com should be.”

On her future self: “I will act when I want, but I want to tell stories. I’ll be the woman with all those crazy, big bracelets, jewelry, and caftans, directing.”

She also revealed why she’s so attracted to musicians.

Kate Hudson Responds to Backlash to Her Movie 'Music,' Directed By Sia

Kate Hudson is speaking out in response to the backlash her movie Music, directed by Sia, has received for its portrayal of autism.

The 41-year-old actress, who received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in the film, discussed the controversy while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Friday (February 19).

“I think when people see the film, they will see the amount of love and sensitivity that was put into it,” Kate said. “It is an important conversation to have and it’s not just about this movie, but as a whole, about representation. For me, when I hear that there’s anybody that feels left out I feel terrible.”

There has been controversy over Maddie Ziegler being cast as a nonverbal autistic woman as she’s a neurotypical actress.

“Nobody has really asked me that,” Kate said about the controversy. “I’ve only been asked to sort of comment in a quote, and it’s not a soundbite conversation. I think it’s an ongoing, important dialogue to be had about neurotypical actors playing neurodivergent characters.”

“The spectrum is so wide and should be approached with far more conversation and understanding of how can we be more representative, what are the best ways to do that,” Kate added. “We want to tell the best stories we can. There is no one who wants to upset anybody. When people feel upset about anything, it’s our job to listen and encourage more conversation with other people who want to tell these stories.”

A viral Twitter thread about the movie explained why its so offensive to the autistic community.
