Kesha Says She's Not 'Free' to Release Music Yet, Reflects On Her 'Brand-New' Chapter After Parting Ways With Dr. Luke's Label

Kesha opened up about music and her state of mind in a new interview.

The 36-year-old “Praying” hitmaker has been hinting at plans to release new music and even seemingly teased a duet with Lil Nas X that has not yet materialized.

Whenever new music comes, it’ll be her first project after parting ways with Dr. Luke‘s label in December 2023.

In a new interview, Kesha opened up about her “brand new and very exciting chapter.” She also hinted that she was not “free” to release any of her music yet.

Kesha & Lil Nas X Announce Duet, Her First New Song Since Parting Ways With Dr. Luke

Kesha is gearing up to drop her first new single since parting ways with Dr. Luke, and it’s going to be a collaboration with Lil Nas X.

The 36-year-old “Die Young” pop star confirmed that she was moving on from her deal with Dr. Luke, who she had previously accused of mistreatment and sexual assault. The pair reached a settlement in their legal battle in the summer of 2023 and concluded their contract in December.

On Friday (January 5), the “Industry Baby” rapper, 24, revealed that they were dropping a new track together within a week’s time.

Kesha Reveals How She's Doing Days After Parting Ways With Dr. Luke's Label

Kesha is opening up about how she feels after parting ways with Dr. Luke‘s label and her management team.

The 36-year-old “Praying” singer accused the producer of mistreatment and sexual assault back in 2014.

In June, they finally reached a settlement following the nearly decade-long legal battle. Kesha officially left his label, Kemosabe, and her management company, Vector Management, on Monday (December 18).

Now, she’s expressing how it feels on social media.

Kesha is making a change to her song “Tik Tok” following Cassie‘s lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs.

On Thursday (November 16), Cassie sued her ex-boyfriend, accusing him of rape and abuse over a decade. The next day, the two released a statement saying that they had resolved the case.

In the wake of Cassie‘s allegations against Diddy, Kesha has modified a line that mentions the music mogul in her 2009 track “Tik Tok.”
