Kevin Feige Gives 'Deadpool 3' Update & Says Movie Will Be In The MCU

There’s been a big update about the status of Deadpool 3.

In a recent interview with Collider, Marvel boss Kevin Feige revealed that the third movie in the Deadpool franchise is still going to be happening, but this time around it will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now…,” Kevin shared about star Ryan Reynolds‘ involvement.

He added that Deadpool 3 will “not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun.”

“Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”

Sisters Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux are working on the script and it is expected that the movie will film in 2022.

Creator Rob Leifeld opened up last year about how he didn’t think the movie would actually happen.

Ryan later filmed a funny spoof about the delay of the movie.

Kevin Feige has issued a statement following the death of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman.

Marvel Boss Clarifies Comment About Trans Characters Coming 'Very Soon'

Marvel’s Kevin Feige made headlines this week after he opened up about the future of LGBTQ+ representation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During a Q&A, Kevin was asked specifically about “trans characters” being introduced to the films and he replied, “very soon, in a movie that we’re shooting right now.”

Now, the comments are being backtracked as Kevin only meant that an LGBTQ+ character would be introduced “very soon,” not specifically a trans character.

Variety reports that he “only intended to respond to the first part about LGBT+ characters, and he did not mean to imply that a trans character will be coming to the MCU ‘very soon.’”

Most fans believe that the first major gay character in the MCU will be part of Eternals.

Marvel's Kevin Feige Reacts to Martin Scorsese's Comments About Marvel Movies

Kevin Feige is speaking out about Martin Scorsese‘s criticism of Marvel movies, doubling down on his belief that the movies are “not cinema.”

The Marvel chief creative officer opened up in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter‘s Scott Feinberg on the Awards Chatter podcast on Sunday (November 10).

“I think that’s not true. I think it’s unfortunate. I think myself and everyone who works on these movies loves cinema, loves movies, loves going to the movies, loves to watch a communal experience in a movie theater full of people,” he said.

“We did Civil War. We had our two most popular characters get into a very serious theological and physical altercation. We killed half of our characters at the end of a movie [Avengers: Infinity War]. I think it’s fun for us to take our success and use it to take risks and go in different places,” he went on to say regarding cinematic risks.

“Everybody has a different definition of cinema. Everybody has a different definition of art. Everybody has a different definition of risk. Some people don’t think it’s cinema. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. Everyone is entitled to repeat that opinion. Everyone is entitled to write op-eds about that opinion, and I look forward to what will happen next. But in the meantime, we’re going to keep making movies.”
