Spain's King Felipe & Queen Letizia Are Touring the Country to Promote Economic Growth Amid Coronavirus

King Felipe and Queen Letizia are on a tour of Spain right now to promote economic, social, and cultural activity after the coronavirus outbreak.

The royal couple stepped out together at the church of San Martin Pinairo on Saturday (July 25) in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

While the coronavirus outbreak in Spain had seemingly went away by June, daily new cases are surging again this week.

Last weekend, Letizia and Felipe went to a local movie theater in Madrid for a date night and to encourage others to support the film industry during this time. They even purchased their tickets from a kiosk!

Spain's King Felipe & Queen Letizia Go Casual For A Movie Date

King Felipe and Queen Letizia are showing support for the economy as they head to the movie theater in Madrid, Spain on Saturday (July 18).

The Spanish monarchs went casual for the movie date night out and were pictured with their masks on as they picked out which movie they wanted to watch and purchased their tickets from a kiosk.

Letizia and Felipe have been visiting several cities and villages around the country in hopes to restart their tourism industry and to take part in the country’s resurgence after the pandemic.

Earlier in the week, Felipe and Letizia were visiting the Olafur Eliasson’s “In real life” exhibit at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.

Spanish Queen Letizia Shows Off Summer Style While During Royal Tour

Queen Letizia wows in a summery pink dress during one of her royal stops on the Spanish Royal Tour in Benidorm, Spain over the weekend.

The 47-year-old monarch joined her husband, King Felipe VI, on the tour which is promoting tourism across the country as they recover from the coronavirus pandemic.

Felipe and Letizia have also been promoting safe practices, such as wearing masks, standing the recommended six feet apart from others, and washing their hands.

During their weekend tour, Letizia also wore a bold red dress to the 2019 Innovation and Design National Awards in Valencia, and just recently, took a tour of the La Carrichosa fruit and vegetables cooperative. There, she wore a white top with a full, floral skirt for the outing.

Just last night, Letizia and Felipe were joined by their daughters, Leonor, Princess of Asturias, and Infanta Sofia at a memorial at the Almudena Cathedral, in Madrid, in memory of victims of the coronavirus.

Earlier this year, the Spanish Royal Family attended another memorial for coronavirus victims.

FYI: Letizia‘s pink dress is from Adolfo Domínguez, which she paired with Macarena wedges and Carolina Herrera sunglasses. She also wore a Mango jumpsuit to a visit in Cuenca.

Spain's King Felipe & Queen Letizia Choose Not To Wear Masks For A Bit During Canary Island Visit

King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain go without masks as they make a visit to the Canary Islands on Tuesday (June 23).

The royal couple stopped by the Pérez Galdós House-Museum, before touring the capital of Gran Canaria. Their visit coincided with the usual commemoration of the Foundation (1478) of the Very Noble and Very Loyal Royal City of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

Felipe and Letizia chose to not wear masks at the start of their tour, but did put them on as they walked through the city and greeted some royal fans with elbow bumps instead of handshakes, as they did before

Their visit coincides with the new tourism campaign, which hopes to bring world travelers back to Spain this summer.

Earlier over the weekend, Felipe and Letizia were seen with their daughters, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, as they headed to the Teatros del Cana for a contemporary flamenco performance.

Just last month, the Spanish Royal Family attended a service to remember the victims of coronavirus in the country.

Spain's King Felipe & Queen Letizia Remember COVID-19 Victims With Moment of Silence

King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain step out for a memorial event to honor COVID-19 victims at the Zarzuela Palace on Wednesday (May 27) in Madrid, Spain.

The two Spanish monarchs gathered with their daughters, Leonor, Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofia for the somber event.

The reigning family observed a moment of silence for all those who have died from the deadly pandemic.

Early on, Letizia and Felipe were both tested for the coronavirus after she came into contact with someone who had tested positive. They both were negative for the virus.

The King and Queen kept on working from inside their residence during the country’s stay at home orders and together, with the Cortes Generales, have opted to reopen parts of the country again earlier this month.

Spain's King Felipe & Queen Letizia Share Their Coronavirus Test Results

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain have shared their test results with media after being tested for the Covid-19 Coronavirus.

The reigning monarchs of the country have tested negative, the Royal House confirmed.

Queen Letizia and King Felipe were tested after she met with government minister, Irene Montero, who has since been diagnosed with coronavirus.

Although she had tested negative, Queen Letizia will be monitored and undergo temperature checks.

The Royal Family have also cancelled their remaining engagements for this week.

They’re not the only royals cancelling events – Britain’s Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have also cancelled their engagements.

Queen Letizia of Spain shares a cute laugh with her husband, King Felipe VI, while meeting audiences at Zarzuela Palace on Tuesday afternoon (February 25) in Madrid, Spain.

Their majesties hosted members of the Spanish media group Atresmedia, which was celebrating its 30th anniversary as one of the main communication groups in the country.

Before marrying Felipe in 2004, Letizia was a journalist.

Just a few days before, Letizia wore a pretty pink floral dress that had us in the mood for springtime weather for another audience event at the palace, where she received the TEAF Visual charity.

The organization offers support to families affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (TEAF), a group of conditions that can occur in a person whose mother drank during pregnancy.

Letizia and Felipe recently returned to Madrid from a trip to the Almonte region.
