Kristoffer Polaha and his family might have the coolest family tradition ever.
While speaking with TV Fanatic, the 45-year-old actor, who recently starred in Hallmark’s We Wish You A Married Christmas, admitted that while learning about others’ Christmas and holiday traditions is something he’s interested in, he and his family are good on theirs.
“Our Christmas is locked in. So we’re not really in the market for new traditions because of what we have, and we like what we do. But it’s always fun to add,” he shared.
He added, “It’s fun to jump into these other lives and to see these other traditions and to do the gingerbread competition or to do the little Christmas flea market thing, all of the stuff. It’s kind of a treat for me as an actor to go and be a part of that.”
Kristoffer then shared the full story of his family’s crazy, but very cool way that his family and children find out how Santa Claus is real.
While promoting his new Hallmark movie We Wish You a Married Christmas, the 45-year-old actor recalled starring alongside the 41-year-old Duchess of Sussex in the 2016 Hallmark movie The Dater’s Handbook.
During the interview, Kristoffer revealed the dating advice he gave Meghan after she finalized her divorce from Trevor Engelson and before she met Prince Harry.
In We Wish You A Married Christmas, married couple Becca and Robby head to a a cozy Vermont inn at the advice of their marriage coach so they can recharge, after having a hard time connecting with each other as the holidays approach.
In a new interview, Kris opened up about how Hallmark flipped their formula around for this film.
“Marisol and I read the script, we’re like, ‘How are you going to take a couple that’s literally on the brink of divorce…’ I mean, the opening scene is them making the decision to separate,” he shared with TV Fanatic. “How do you put that couple in the Hallmark bubble, and how do you get the audience to root for that couple without them being unlikable because they’re falling out of love? And the trick was, how do we get them back on track, and how do we get people to root for that and want to see that? And so it was a challenge.”
We Wish You A Married Christmas premieres Saturday, October 22 at 8 p.m. on Hallmark Channel. Check out a sneak peek below!
Lifetime;s Buried in Barstow is just the first in a series of movies, the network confirmed.
The channel revealed that development on a second film is already underway, and has plans for more, and star Angie Harmon opened up about bringing more of Hazel King’s story to viewers.
“This is actually a new experience for me,” Angie shared with press. “I kind of didn’t really understand how we were supposed to do this and then film it and then how much of the original script we’re supposed to put in this one. So it was kind of a learning experience for me.”
She added that she’s “thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m curious to see how the audience responds to it. But then I just sort of justified it in my head as we go to the theatre or we watch movies that are two hours long, and then there’s a sequel, and then there’s a third. So I was just like, oh, well, they’ve been doing this since the beginning of filmmaking.”
Here’s the logline for Buried in Barstow: “Plucked off the streets of Las Vegas at 15, Hazel was trained as a hit woman until a surprising pregnancy drives her to leave it all behind. Now over a decade later, Hazel is the owner of a BBQ diner in Barstow, CA, whose past eventually catches up with her as a stranger Elliot arrives and Hazel discovers mixing business with pleasure as she’s pulled back in for one more hit.”
If you’re unfamiliar, the signature series, which debuted in 2019, centers on college professor Amy Winslow (Wagner), who has become an expert in whodunnits. New in town, Detective Travis Cole (Polaha) arrives on campus to investigate the theft of a genetically engineered plant worth millions from the Life Science Lab, where the two meet.
While Travis is hesitant to involve her in the case, it seems Amy has a knack for solving crimes and aids him in his hunt for a thief and possibly a killer.
Mystery 101 has had seven original movies debut since then, and fans are wondering if there might be more coming.
