Alex Edelman has made his Broadway debut!

The 34-year-old stand-up comedian celebrated the opening of his one-man play Just For Us on Monday night (June 26) at the Hudson Theatre in New York City.

Alex got support from many celebs at the opening night following acclaimed international runs of the show in London, Edinburgh, Melbourne, Boston, and Washington D.C., as well as a six-time extended off-Broadway engagement across three venues in NYC.

Celebs in attendance at the opening included Rachel Brosnahan and husband Jason Ralph, Busy Philipps, Kathryn Gallagher, playwright Jeremy O. Harris, Mike Birbiglia, Kevin Cahoon, Alysia Reiner, Billy Eichner, Laura Benanti, Michael Urie, Miriam Silverman, Helene Yorke, Regina Spektor, Krysta Rodriguez, Micaela Diamond, Gus Birney, and Louisa Jacobson.

The play “is an exploration of identity and our collective capacity for empathy. In the wake of a string of anti-Semitic rhetoric pointed in his direction online, standup comic Edelman decides to go straight to the source; specifically, Queens, where he covertly attends a meeting of White Nationalists and comes face-to-face with the people behind the keyboards. What happens next forms the backbone of the shockingly relevant, utterly hilarious, and only moderately perspirant stories.”

Just For Us is running through August 19.

Laura Benanti made a recent podcast appearance where she spoke about her No Hard Feelings co-star Jennifer Lawrence.

During the The Art of Kindness with Robert Peterpaul podcast episode, hosted by actor & journalist Robert Peterpaul, Laura was asked about working alongside the Oscar-winning actress.

During the discussion, Laura pointed out two moments on the set of the comedy movie where Jennifer advocated for Laura.

Jennifer Lawrence jokes around with Andrew Barth Feldman at the premiere of their new film, No Hard Feelings, in NYC.

The two actors met up with co-stars Matthew Broderick, Laura Benanti, Hasan Minhaj, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Natalie Morales and director Gene Stupnitsky on the red carpet at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater on Tuesday (June 20).

Matthew‘s son, James Wilkie Broderick and Stranger Things‘ star David Harbour were also seen at the event.

The new flick, out on June 23, centers on a down-on-her-luck woman, Maddie, who is on the brink of losing her home, and finds an intriguing job listing: helicopter parents looking for someone to bring their introverted 19-year-old son out of his shell before college. She has one summer to make him a man or die trying.

Jennifer Lawrence accepts an atypical job in the trailer for her raunchy new movie No Hard Feelings.

In the R-rated comedy, the actress plays a down on her luck Uber driver who accepts the job of “dating” a young man named Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) before he goes to college. In exchange, his parents (Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti) are willing to give her a car.

However, the art of seduction doesn’t go exactly as she planned.

Laura Benanti sadly suffered a miscarriage, and it happened onstage while performing on a cruise ship, called the Broadway Cruise.

The 43-year-old performer shared an update on social media on Wednesday (April 5).

“On Monday April 3rd, I performed on stage for 2000 people while having a miscarriage. I knew it was happening,” she began.

Here’s a synopsis: On the brink of losing her childhood home, Maddie (Lawrence) discovers an intriguing job listing: wealthy helicopter parents (Matthew Broderick & Laura Benanti) looking for someone to “date” their introverted 19-year-old son, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), before he leaves for college. To her surprise, Maddie soon discovers the awkward Percy is no sure thing.

The movie also stars Natalie Morales, Hasan Minhaj, Kyle Mooney, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Scott MacArthur and more.

Hamilton and She Hulk star Renée Elise Goldsberry grabbed attention this week when she sent a congratulations message to fellow Broadway star Laura Benanti…except it wasn’t a very celebratory moment for Laura!

Laura had posted a photo of a positive COVID test on Instagram with the caption, “Happy New Year? 🎈 (I tested the day of the ballet and was negative…I also wore my mask so everyone is safe, don’t worry!)”

Renee then commented, “AAAAAAH! Congratulations!,” which drew some puzzled responses from fans.

Well, Renee has now explained the error and Laura responded to Renee’s original comment, too.
