The stars are stepping out to celebrate 25 seasons of Law & Order: SVU!

Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T posed for photos together while arriving at the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit 25th Anniversary Celebration on Tuesday night (January 16) in New York City.

Fellow cast members in attendance included Christopher Meloni and wife Sherman Williams, Peter Scanavino, Kelli Giddish and husband Beau Richards, Tamara Tunie, Stephanie March, Ainsley Seiger, David Krumholtz, and Dann Florek.

Mariska‘s husband Peter Hermann and Ice-T‘s wife Coco Austin were also in attendance.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (Law & Order: SVU) is one gripping drama.

The crime series, which is also the first spin-off of Law & Order by Dick Wolf, premiered back in September of 1999, and has since gone on to become the longest-running primetime U.S. live-action series in the history of TV, and the only live-action ’90s series still producing new episodes.

It features stars like Christopher Meloni as Elliot Stabler (who left in 2011), and Mariska Hargitay as Olivia Benson.

The iconic opening provides the premise: “In the criminal justice system, sexually-based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories.”

Law & Order: SVU has gone on to be nominated for dozens of awards, and plenty of acclaim – but there are certain episodes that stand out among the rest.

Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni walk a little behind Kelli Giddish while filming for the upcoming season finale of Law & Order: SVU in New York City on Monday afternoon (April 17).

Kelli, who was confirmed to be returning for a guest starring appearance in the episode, was seen with a large baby bump. It’s being written into the script that she and Carisi (whom she married in the mid-season finale), are expecting a child.

A few months ago, Kelli spoke out about her exit, and revealed if she was forced out of the role – and she wasn’t.

“[It's] just that it’s time in the Rollins storyline. I felt like where it was heading, and where it headed last night, just seemed the right place to leave it right now,” she said at the time. “I am so excited about things going on in my personal life and kind of the mirroring of what’s going on in my personal life and in Rollins’, there’s a lot of joy to be experienced.”

The season finale of Law & Order: SVU is expected to air next month.
