Lil Wayne is honoring the late Kobe Bryant.

The 37-year-old rapper performed a tribute to the late basketball legend during the 2020 BET Awards on Sunday (June 28).

For his virtual performance, Lil Wayne performed a rendition of his 2009 track “Kobe Bryant,” where he recognized Kobe’s talents, rapping , “Kobe doin’ work, 2-4 on my shirt/ He the greatest on the court, and I’m the greatest on the verse.”

In the next verse, Lil Wayne gave a special shout-out to Kobe’s wife Vanessa Bryant and their kids.

“Heart goes out to Vanessa and the whole Black Mamba family,” Lil Wayne rapped.

Kobe and 13-year-old daughter Gianna tragically died during a helicopter crash in Calabasas back on February 7.

Also in attendance at the nightclub was J Balvin who served as a special guest during the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show for a performance of his hit “Mi Gente” with Jennifer Lopez.

That same day, Kanye West sang with his choir during his Sunday Service Experience worship event at the Bayfront Park Amphitheatre in downtown Miami.

Lil Wayne is addressing reports that his private jet was searched by the FBI.

The 37-year-old rapper seemingly confirmed that the aircraft was searched on Monday (December 23) at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport in Miami, Fla.

According to the Miami Herald, Lil Wayne was traveling from California to Florida with several passengers. Authorities were reportedly alerted that drugs were possibly being transported on the plane.

Upon arrival, authorities boarded the plane with a warrant.

“All goody! I think they thought I was talking abt a different ‘Pack’ in my last tweet. But anyway GO PACK GO!!!” Lil Wayne wrote on his Twitter.

It sounds like everything worked out at the airport for Lil Wayne!

Fans of Lil Wayne who have tickets to see his concert with Blink-182 tonight in St. Louis might be very upset when they get to the show.

The 36-year-old rapper took to Twitter on Saturday morning (September 14) to announce that he won’t perform after reportedly being kicked out of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Wayne says that the police got involved, though it’s not clear yet what happened.

He wrote, “Sorry not doing the show tonight in St Lou kuz I was just kik’d out the ritz and 12 got involve so I gotta slide. Tht y’all f w me out here. Dam slime. It’s all luv tho.”

The Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre has confirmed that Wayne won’t be performing tonight, though Blink-182 will still perform.

The rapper and his record label Young Money collaborated with the brand on a 25-piece collection that includes t-shirts, jeans, jackets, and more. It will be available to purchase on August 10.

Wayne was joined by Hollywood’s New Generation at the event, including model Nina Agdal, Sailor Brinkley Cook, Kathryn Gallagher, Ireland Baldwin, Corinne Foxx, and Denise Bidot.
