Julia Roberts and Lucas Hedges are sharing their new film Ben Is Back!

The co-stars stepped out at the premiere of the film on Monday night (December 3) at AMC Loews Lincoln Square in New York City.

They were joined at the event by their cast mates Courtney B. Vance, Jakari Fraser, Mia Fowler, Alexandra Park, Rachel Bay Jones and David Zaldivar.

The movie follows 19 year-old Ben Burns who unexpectedly returns home to his family’s suburban home on Christmas Eve morning. Ben’s mother, Holly, is relieved and welcoming but wary of her son staying clean. Over a turbulent 24 hours, new truths are revealed, and a mother’s undying love for her son is tested as she does everything in her power to keep him safe.

The 51-year-old actress recently opened up about bonding with Lucas, 21, and her real family before they started filming Ben Is Back, which about a drug-addicted teen and his mother who is trying to help him.

“Just to be able to develop a relationship and have some life experience together with Lucas before we started shooting and he was at our house a lot,” Julia told Extra. “He was there for Thanksgiving, he came to soccer games, went to the beach with the kids, and did things so that we were part of each other’s lives before we started to pretend to be the most important people in each other’s lives.”

“Oh, anything! I mean, that is the universal connective tissue of mothers and mother figures in the world,” Julia added on being protective of her children. “There is nothing you would not do to help, save, support, hold your child close.”

Lucas Hedges is all smiles as he poses with his family while attending the Roadside Attractions and The Cinema Society special screening of his film Ben Is Back held at The Whitby Hotel on Monday evening (November 26) in New York City.

The 21-year-old actor and and his family – mother Susan, father Peter and brother Simon – were joined at the event by their co-star Rachel Bay Jones.

Also in attendance to show their support was Mary-Louise Parker and her son Will, Carol Kane, Ben Platt, two-time Tony winner Joe Mantello, Dylan Baker and his wife Becky Ann Baker, Ari’el Stachel, Willa Fitzgerald and Charlie Carver.

The upcoming film, in select theaters on Friday (November 2), tells the courageous story of Jared Eamons (Lucas Hedges), the son of a Baptist pastor in a small American town, who must overcome the fallout of being outed to his parents (Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe).

His parents struggle with reconciling their love for their son with their beliefs. Fearing a loss of family, friends, and community, Jared is pressured into attending a conversion therapy program. While there, Jared comes into conflict with its leader (Joel Edgerton) and begins his journey to finding his own voice and accepting his true self.

The movie is based on Boy Erased: A Memoir of Identity, Faith and Family by Garrard Conley.

Troye Sivan is singing his new song on TV!

The 23-year-old Boy Erased star and pop superstar appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show alongside Nicole Kidman and Lucas Hedges on Tuesday (October 30).

During his appearance, Troye and Nicole teamed up to face off against Lucas and Ellen in an Aussies vs. Americans game of “Stuff Your Granny Panties.”

Later on, Troye hit the Ellen stage to perform the main Boy Erased soundtrack song, “Revelation.”

Nicole Kidman makes an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing on Tuesday (October 30), and chats all about the highly anticipated second season of Big Little Lies!

The 51-year-old actress reveals Meryl Streep signed on without reading a script. “Yeah, we got lucky – she signed on without having read any script,” Nicole expressed. “She was like, ‘I want to be part of the coven,’ which I thought was funny.”

Nicole also reveals that her two daughters with husband Keith Urban – Sunday, 10, and Faith, 7 – make cameos in the upcoming season: “They were in as extras in Big Little Lies, which I’ve never told anyone. There I am now being a big mouth.”

Nicole Kidman was shimmering at the premiere of Boy Erased!

The 51-year-old actress hit the red carpet in a sequined gown on Monday night (October 29) at Directors Guild Of America in Los Angeles.

She was joined by her co-stars Lucas Hedges, Joel Edgerton, Flea, and Troye Sivan.

Other cast in attendance included Britton Sear, Josh Scherer, Emily Hinkler, Madelyn Cline, David Ditmore, Jesse LaTourette and David Joseph Craig.

The story follows the son of a Baptist preacher who is forced to participate in a church-supported gay conversion program after being forcibly outed to his parents.

Boy Erased hits theaters November 2nd.
