M. Night Shyamalan's Dad Didn't Even Look at Him When He Got Into Film School

M. Night Shyamalan made a rare appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and revealed that his decision to go to film school was not received well by his family.

The 48-year-old Glass director told Stephen that when he first broke the news of his showbiz career plans to his family — who are all doctors — his father wasn’t exactly impressed.

“My dad was watching a hockey game and I said, ‘Dad I applied to NYU film school, I got in as a scholarship, and I’m gonna go’, and he didn’t even look at me,” Shyamalan expressed. “He just kept watching the game.”

M. Night also talked about his new film Glass and the universe setting up an unlikely encounter with James McAvoy – Watch the interview below!
