Lupita Nyong’o hits the red carpet at the premiere of her new movie Queen of Katwe on Tuesday (September 20) at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.

The 33-year-old Oscar-winning actress was joined at the premiere by her co-star David Oyelowo, who brought his wife Jessica and their four kids.

Also in attendance at the premiere were the movie’s young star Madina Nalwanga and director Mira Nair, as well as Kevin Quinn and Garrett Clayton.

Lupita Nyong’o is all smiles while attending a special screening and live Q&A for her latest fiilm Queen of Katwe held at AMC Theater on Monday (September 19) in Century City, Calif.

The 33-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-stars Madina Nalwanga and David Oyelowo, director Mira Nair, as well as Robert Katende and Phiona Mutesi, who Madina and David portray in the film.

“I don’t think any one person does it. I think it’s the movement of lots of individuals coming together at one time,” Lupita expressed, referring to if her career is paving the way for a more diverse Hollywood (via RedEye). “It’s a convergence of intention, you know? So I certainly hope that me being around and working is changing something, shifting something, but I don’t think I can claim the power of being able to shift an entire industry. We are about to open Queen of Katwe across America, I think that is a major change.”

Lupita Nyong’o is joined by celeb pals Reese Witherspoon, Gerard Butler, and Michelle Williams at a private dinner held in her honor by Vanity Fair & Tiffany & Co. on Sunday (September 11) at Shangri-La Hotel in Toronto, Canada.

Other celebs in attendance at the event held during the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival included the actress’ Queen of Katwe co-stars David Oyelowo and Madina Nalwanga, as well as director Mira Nair.

Douglas Booth, Bel Powley, Gemma Arterton, Rebecca Hall, and Mark Duplass also stepped out to show their support for Lupita!

“Honored to be honored by #legendarystyle @tiffanyandco at #TIFF2016! #blueboxboundaries,” Lupita wrote on Instagram after the event.

David Oyelowo and Lupita Nyong’o hit the red carpet to premiere their new movie Queen of Katwe during the 2016 Toronto Film Festival on Saturday night (September 10) in Toronto, Canada.

The actors were joined on the red carpet by David‘s wife Jessica Oyelowo, fellow co-star Madina Nalwanga, and director Mira Nair before heading into the screening of their movie.

Earlier that day, Lupita and David stopped by the Variety and Shutterstock Portrait Studio; and after the premiere, the cast and crew members headed to an after-party where they spent the night dancing.

The movie is based on the vibrant true story of a young girl from the streets of rural Uganda whose world rapidly changes when she is introduced to the game of chess.

As a result of the support she receives from her family and community, is instilled with the confidence and determination she needs to pursue her dream of becoming an international chess champion.

It stars David Oyelowo, Lupita Nyong’o, and Madina Nalwanga.

Queen of Katwe opens in limited release on September 23.

It then expands to more theaters on September 30!
