The tennis stars are stepping out for the 2021 Met Gala!

Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova, and Sloane Stephens hit the red carpet while arriving at the big fashion event held on Monday evening (September 13) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

For the event, Venus, 41, wore a red gown with a long train while Sloane, 28, also sported a red dress with a high slit up the middle.

Maria, 34, wowed in a gold gown as she attended the event with fiance Alexander Gilkes.

Jessica Chastain walks ahead of husband Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo as they prepare to leave Venice, Italy on Monday morning (September 6).

The cute married couple were seen arriving at a water taxi which took them from the center island to the airport along with Maria Sharapova.

Jessica has been in Venice to promote her new HBO series, Scenes From A Marriage, with co-star Oscar Isaac, and over the weekend, they went viral for their intimate moments on the red carpet of the premiere.

In the viral video moment, Oscar was seen smelling Jessica‘s arm and many fans compared the moment to Morticia and Gomez Addams from the Addams Family television series.

Jessica seemed to have picked up on the reference and shared an image of the black and white television moment on her Twitter.

“Sept 12th,” she captioned, which is the premiere date of Scenes From a Marriage.

Just the night before, the -year-old actress joined Oscar Isaac for the premiere of their new HBO series, Scenes From A Marriage.

Ruth Wilson and Maria Sharapova were also seen arriving on the island around the same time as Jessica, as they prepared to attend premieres later in the evening.

Maria is pictured in a Dior dress at the Illusions Perdues event. Ruth was seen at the Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon premiere.

Here’s a pairing that you probably didn’t expect – Jessica Chastain and Maria Sharapova!

The two friends were spotted on a double date while attending the 2021 Venice Film Festival on Wednesday (September 1) in Venice, Italy.

Joining the ladies were Jessica‘s husband Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo and Maria‘s fiance Alexander Gilkes.

The next day, Jessica and Gian Luca were seen attending the premiere of the movie The Hand of God during the festival. She was dressed in an Elie Saab dress at the event, where she posed with director Paolo Sorrentino.

Back in 2013, Maria tweeted about Jessica‘s Oscar-nominated movie. She wrote, “I think it would be physically impossible to fall asleep during Zero Dark Thirty.”

When Maria announced her retirement from tennis in 2020, Jessica commented on her post, “You are such an incredible woman!”

Tennis star Maria Sharapova has announced that she’s engaged to art dealer Alexander Gilkes!

“I said yes from the first day we met❤️This was our little secret, wasn’t it 💍🥂@gilkesa,” the 33-year-old athlete captioned a series of photos of her and her 41-year-old fiance on her Instagram.

If you don’t know, Alexander is believed to be a good pal of Prince William and Prince Harry! Alexander was also in attendance at Princess Eugenie‘s wedding in 2018.

The world knew Alexander and Maria’s relationship with very serious when she took him as her date to one of the world’s biggest events!

Congratulations to the happy couple on the wonderful news!

Tennis star Maria Sharapova is retiring from the sport.

The 32-year-old athlete last won a grand slam in 2014 after winning the French Open for the second time. She most recently played in the 2020 Australian Open when she was knocked out in the first round.

Maria announced the news in a column she wrote for Vanity Fair, writing, “Tennis—I’m saying goodbye.”

“Throughout my career, Is it worth it? was never even a question—in the end, it always was. My mental fortitude has always been my strongest weapon. Even if my opponent was physically stronger, more confident—even just plain better—I could, and did, persevere,” she wrote.

“I’ve never really felt compelled to speak about work, or effort, or grit—every athlete understands the unspoken sacrifices they must make to succeed. But as I embark on my next chapter, I want anyone who dreams of excelling in anything to know that doubt and judgment are inevitable: You will fail hundreds of times, and the world will watch you. Accept it. Trust yourself. I promise that you will prevail,” Maria added.

In 2016, Maria tested positive for banned substance meldonium and wasn’t allowed to play for 15 months. Here’s what Maria said about the banned substance and her suspension from the sport at the time.

In her career, Maria won five grand slam titles – two at the French Open and one each at the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and US Open.
