Marina is tackling some of the biggest headlines with her new single.

The “How to Be a Heartbreaker” singer-songwriter returned on Wednesday (April 14) with her new single and music video, “Purge the Poison.”

In her new song, Marina references several cultural events, including the #MeToo movement, Harvey Weinstein and Britney Spears‘ highly publicized head-shaving moment in 2007.

“2007 when size zero was the rage⁣⁣⁣ / Britney shaved her head and / All we did was call her crazed⁣⁣⁣ / Harvey Weinstein‘s gone to jail⁣⁣⁣ / Me Too went on to unveil⁣⁣⁣ / Truth and all its glory⁣⁣ / The ending of a story⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣,” she sings.

“Need to purge the poison from my system / Until human beings listen / Tell me, who do you think you are?”

Marina is back!

The artist formerly known as Marina + The Diamonds returned on Wednesday (November 18) with “Man’s World,” along with the accompanying music video.

The song was created alongside female collaborators, which she began last year after learning that women account for only two percent of producers and three percent of engineers involved in popular music.

“Mother nature’s dying, nobody’s keeping score / I don’t wanna live in a man’s world anymore,” she sings.

The song was produced by Jenn Decilveo and engineered by Emily Lazar, and the video and photography was helmed by an all-female creative team, led by acclaimed filmmaker/photographers Alexandra Gavillet and Coughs. Remixes from female artists such as MUNA and Empress Of are still to come.

Marina released her latest studio album, Love + Fear, in 2019.

Lana Del Rey, Jack Antonoff and Marina Diamandis, otherwise known as Marina + The Diamonds, are all hanging out!

The three songwriters took a group selfie on Sunday (February 25), which Marina posted on her Instagram.

“Eyyy 👨‍👧‍👧,” Marina captioned the post.

Marina also posted a photo with Lana. “Sis 👯‍♀️ @lanadelrey,” she wrote.

“Babe 💕💕💕💕💕,” Lana wrote on her Instagram with a photo of Marina.

So much love between all three! Can we expect a musical collaboration sometime soon?

Marina Diamandis, otherwise known as Marina & The Diamonds, isn’t sure why actors like Kate Winslet are still working with Woody Allen, despite the molestation allegations made against him years ago by his adoptive daughter, Dylan Fallow.

“How come Woody Allen goes free? I don’t understand how any sane or moral person can still work with him + feel OK about that,” the 32-year-old singer-songwriter wrote, quote-tweeting Rose McGowan on Friday (December 8).

“I believe Dylan Farrow. Always have, always will,” she then wrote.

“Can you imagine accepting a job where your boss has child sexual abuse allegations against him AND he married his adopted daughter, but you, as a grown, financially secure human just go: ‘I don’t know anything, really, and whether any of it is true or false’,” she added.

The last part of Marina‘s tweet is a direct quote from Kate, who was asked about working with Woody on Wonder Wheel.

Lana Del Rey and Marina Diamandis, also known as Marina + The Diamonds, are continuing to flaunt their friendship on social media.

Lana posted a selfie with Marina on her Instagram on Monday afternoon (August 21).

While the two have never collaborated on music (yet!), they’ve continued to show love for each other on social media, much to their mutual fans’ delight.

Lana recently thanked Marina “for your friendship and your art” in the liner notes of her latest record, Lust For Life.

Back in July, Marina attended Lana’s showcase at Brixton Academy in London.

This isn’t the first time the two hung out together: back in May, Lana posted a video with Marina on her Instagram, captioning the post “SISTERS.”

Marina & the Diamonds‘ “How To Be A Heartbreaker” is this week’s pick for JustJared.com and KIIS FM 102.7‘s JJ Music Monday!

The song, produced by Dr. Luke, Cirkut, and Benny Blanco, will be the next single off her album Electra Heart.
