Martin Sheen has reportedly spoken out in support of his son Charlie Sheen‘s reveal that he has HIV.

“He had been leading up to this sort of story for several months, and we kept encouraging him to do it,” the 75-year-old actor said while on stage at the CME Group’s Global Financial Leadership Conference, according to E! News. “He kept backing away and backing away because it was like going to his own execution, I guess. It was the most difficult thing he’d ever done. And he kind of sealed it when he called Matt Lauer last week and asked if he could go on.”

“This morning, as I watched him alone, reveal his deepest, darkest secret, I couldn’t believe the level of courage I was witnessing, and that it was my son. I left him a message, and I said that if I had that much courage, I would change the world,” Martin continued.

Netflix has renewed another one of its brand new series – Grace and Frankie will be getting a second season!

The news was confirmed with a statement by series co-creator Marta Kauffman, who also created Friends.

“Let me say, it’s so awesome to do a show on Netflix,” she said. “Because two and a half weeks after we launched, Miley Cyrus does a tweet about your show, and they call and say, ‘We’d like to do a season two.’ So yes, there is a season two. We have Ted [Sarandos] and Miley to thank.”

Grace and Frankie stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as enemies whose husbands leave them for each other. Season one is streaming in full right now on Netflix.

The 37-year-old actor talked about the time in 1998 when he fell three stories after trying to climb to the roof of a building. He was paralyzed for four days and doctors thought he might never walk again.

“Laying in that hospital bed, I thought about the course of my life,” Orly said. “How reckless I’d been. How I hadn’t valued my life. I knew that wasn’t my destiny. I fixed my mind right there and then that I would leave [the] hospital on my own and strive to never take life for granted again. Never.”
