Michael Strahan is opening up about his experience on Live!, years after he left the show to join the ranks of Good Morning America.
Page Six reports that the -year-old newscaster and former football player revealed during a town hall with ABC staffers and execs that he felt that he couldn’t speak up on that set.
“Michael said that there were some very tense situations with executives who got argumentative and loud on the show,” the paper writes. “He was very aware he couldn’t speak up or raise his voice as he was worried he would be seen as threatening.”
Michael left Live! in 2016 after co-hosting with Kelly Ripa for four years.
His exit was filled with controversy as it was reported that Kelly wasn’t informed of him leaving the show at all.
A few months on, Michael admitted that he didn’t miss co-hosting the series and just recently, talked about how he hasn’t spoken to Kelly in quite some time.
“I learned through all that went down with that, you can’t convince people to like you,” he said. “I haven’t spoken to her in a long time.”
