The 37-year-old country singer, who has been a vocal advocate of racial equality over the years, dropped some big news about her music plans.

“I’m finally putting out an album, like a full album after 10 years. I’m finally putting out an album and I’m so excited,” Mickey said. “These are songs that I’ve been writing for 10 years. Like, these aren’t like brand new songs that you’ll be hearing. These are songs that I’ve had that have been in my email inbox when they were sent from the producer for years and I’m finally getting the chance to to put them out. People are finally hearing me, they’re hearing like, oh, that makes sense. She’s like, this is her, she’s been here this whole time. Just people couldn’t see me. Now, they can see me. And I’m so excited to be putting this music out.”

Mickey was asked what fans can expect and she said, “Very personal? You know, I love to write real time and right, what’s going on? So there’s this one song that I love called, ‘Do You Really Want to Know?’ And it really seems like the intro to all of this, because it talks about what’s been going on with my life. Like, I started going to therapy. I’ve tried to change from within in order to be able to put music out and be able to write music and that’s on there. I also have a country trap song, which I’m so excited.”

“There’s even a song about me loving my hair and, and that was something that’s taken me a long time to accept,” she added.

Country Singer Mickey Guyton Welcomes Baby Boy with Husband Grant Savoy

Mickey Guyton is a mom!

The 37-year-old country singer revealed to fans on Monday (February 8) that she and husband, Grant Savoy, have welcomed their first child together.

“The hardest and most beautiful thing I have ever done. Welcome to the world Grayson!” Mickey captioned a sweet photo of her baby, swaddled up and next to a crocheted teddy bear.

She added a Bible passage from Psalm: “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. – Psalm 30:5.”

Grayson‘s birth comes just after fans rallied over the weekend to get her EP to as many people as possible.

Fans and her fellow country stars were committed to gifting and buying each other her EP to get her up the charts. This comes amid news that Morgan Wallen‘s album sales were still soaring, despite him being taken off radio and is now ineligible for some major awards following his racial slur controversy.

Mickey announced she was expecting her first child in August and just a month later, was seen performing at the ACM Awards with Keith Urban.

Maren Morris, Mickey Guyton & Kelsea Ballerini Call Out Morgan Wallen Over Viral N-Word Video Controversy

Maren Morris, Mickey Guyton and Kelsea Ballerini are just three of the top country stars speaking out after Morgan Wallen was caught saying the N-word in a video.

The three female artists called out Morgan, who just recently won two awards at the CMA Awards and iHeartRadio Music Awards.

If you didn’t see, in the video that surfaced, Morgan is overheard using the N-word to describe one of his drunk friends after they arrive back at his Nashville house after a night out.

“The hate runs deep. Smfh,” Mickey, who is a notable Black country artist, tweeted after the video went viral. “This is not his first time using that ‘unacceptable’ racial slur and we all known that. So what exactly are y’all going to do about it? Crickets won’t work this time. How many passes will you continue to give? Asking for a friend. No one deserves to be canceled [but] this is unacceptable.”

Maren and Kelsea also called out Morgan‘s actions, and agreed with fans that if a female artist had done that, she would’ve been dropped and outcasted from the country community almost immediately.

Since the video went viral, Morgan has been dropped from his record label and iHeartRadio has pulled all of his music from their stations across the country.
