Netflix's 'Cowboy Bebop' - The Reviews Are In!

Cowboy Bebop is getting a lot of attention right now!

The Netflix series is currently hovering at the top of the Top 10 in the U.S. on the streamer following its November 19 premiere.

The show is a live-action remake of the beloved anime series.

In Cowboy Bebop, three bounty hunters, aka “cowboys,” all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals — for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.

John Cho Feared He Was 'Too Sexy' For 'Cowboy Bebop' Role

John Cho speaks on a discussion panel for his upcoming new series, Cowboy Bebop, during the 2021 Vulture Festival held at The Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday (November 13).

Joined by co-stars Mustafa Shakir and Daniella Pineda opened up about the new series, which will debut on Netflix on November 19.

During the discussion, John opened up about another reason he was hesitant in taking on the role of Spike Spiegel in the show: he thought he was too sexy!

Vulture reported that John addressed the pressure he felt playing a beloved character, and whether people were going to like the series at all. However, he admitted, that as he continued to work on the production, his anxieties went away.

John added that he’d remind himself that Spike was someone “who walks around knowing he can do this,” an attitude he tried to emulate himself.

Just recently, John also opened up about the fans who thought he was too old for the role.

John Cho & Co-Stars Mustafa Shakir & Daniella Pineda Attend Premiere of Netflix's 'Cowboy Bebop'

John Cho is stepping out for the premiere of his new Netflix series!

The 49-year-old actor joined co-stars Mustafa Shakir and Daniella Pineda at the premiere of Cowboy Bebop on Thursday evening (November 11) at Goya Studios in Los Angeles.

Other stars in attendance included fellow cast members Elena Satine and Alex Hassell along with the show’s creator André Nemec, the show’s composer Yoko Kanno, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos, and DJ Steve Aoki.

Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka “cowboys,” all trying to outrun the past. Netflix Teases 'Cowboy Bebop' Starring John Cho, Announces Release This Fall

Netflix has announced that the upcoming live-action Cowboy Bebop series will be released on the streaming service later this year!

The show’s stars participated in a cute video for the Netflix Geeked account, which also served as the announcement that Yoko Kanno will be creating the soundtrack for the live action series. Kanno is the famed composer behind the original anime.

Cowboy Bebop will star John Cho as Spike, Mustafa Shakir as Jet, and Daniella Pineda as Faye. Also in the cast are Alex Hassell and Elena Satine.

The video clip features the three stars jamming to the “Tank” theme.

Cowboy Bebop is the “jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine and Radical Ed: a rag-tag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts as they hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals. They’ll even save the world…for the right price.”

Luke Cage's Mike Colter Attends Premiere with Pregnant Wife Iva!

Mike Colter walks the red carpet with his pregnant wife Iva at the premier of Luke Cage season two on Thursday (June 21) in New York City.

The 41-year-old actor announced earlier in the day that he and his wife are expecting a baby girl.

“We are feeling happy but a bit nervous as well. It’s a new member of the family. While it will shift focus for us again, our daughter Niles will probably be affected the most, so we are making sure she feels comfortable and excited with the change to our growing family,” the couple told People.

Also stepping out at the premiere were Mike‘s co-stars Rosario Dawson, Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Mustafa Shakir, Gabrielle Dennis, and Cheo Hodari Coker.
