Nanci Ryder, the co-founder of BWR Public Relations, has died at the age of 67 following a battle with ALS.

Ryder is credited as being one of Hollywood’s first power publicists and she represented such stars as Renee Zellweger, Reese Witherspoon, Courteney Cox, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Emmy Rossum, Terrence Howard, and many more throughout her more than 30 years in the business.

Nanci died at her Los Angeles home at 2:24pm on Thursday (June 11), her longtime friend Bryan Lourd confirmed to THR.

Back in 2014, Nanci was diagnosed with ALS and she rallied her Hollywood friends to join her fight to find a cure for the disease. You can see many photos of them attending the ALS Walk together over the years in the photo gallery.

The two actresses joined “Team Nanci” at the annual LA County Walk to Defeat ALS on Sunday (November 3) at Exposition Park in Los Angeles.

They were also joined at the charity event by Adam Scott.

After being diagnosed with ALS in 2014, Nanci and her friends formed “Team Nanci.” All funds raised at the walk supported The ALS Association Golden West Chapter in care services, public policy and research.

“It’s just about making sure people talk about it, raise awareness, raise funds, and just keep fighting it because there’s just a lot more work to do, although they’re making great strides. You’ve just got to not give up,” Courteney told People.

The actors walked in support of publicist Nanci Ryder as “Team Nanci” for the annual LA County Walk to Defeat ALS on Sunday (October 15) at Exposition Park in Los Angeles.

Other celebrity team members included Justine Bateman, Bryan Lourd, Bruce Bozzi, Don Diamont, Cindy Ambuehl, Kylie Rogers and Kate Linder, plus more walk participants including Mari Winsor, Lara Flynn Boyle and Elizabeth Berkley.

After being diagnosed with ALS in 2014, Nanci and her friends formed “Team Nanci.” Together, they raised over $100,000 for the cause at this year’s walk. All funds raised supported The ALS Association Golden West Chapter in care services, public policy and research.

Renee Zellweger made a touching tribute to her longtime friend and former publicist Nanci Ryder.

The 47-year-old actress stepped out with BWR Public Relations founder Nanci Ryder at the ICG Publicists Awards on Friday (February 24) at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

During the ceremony, Nanci, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2014, was presented with the guild’s President’s Award.

“Nanci just keeps moving the goal post of things that she’s able to overcome and it’s extraordinary. I love you,” Renee tearfully said during her speech.

Nanci has also represented actors like Leonardo DiCaprio, Courteney Cox and Reese Witherspoon.

The three actresses were there to support their friend, longtime Hollywood publicist Nanci Ryder, who was diagnosed with ALS.

“My dear friend Nanci was diagnosed with #ALS two years ago. Please help donate to #WalktodefeatALS to support research for this devastating disease. Link in my bio. I ❤️you Nanci. We are gonna beat this horrible disease!” Reese wrote on her Instagram that day.

The ladies were there as part of “Team Nanci,” formed in support of Hollywood publicist Nanci Ryder, who was diagnosed with ALS this summer.

Also joining the team to show support that day were Katharine McPhee, Emmy Rossum, Rose McGowan, and Brooke Burns.

“Nanci is like my second mother. We talk every single morning on the phone. Her humor is very dry, and everybody has an impression of Nanci Ryder – my husband, me, my kids. She has an incredible attitude, a real joy for life,” Reese told THR for the recent story revealing her diagnosis.
