'Narcos: Mexico' Creator Explains the Series Finale

Narcos: Mexico has come to an end, and now, the co-creator and showrunner is speaking out.

Carlo Bernard opened up in an interview with THR about the third and final season of the show, as well as the final scene.

Narcos: Mexico‘s third season trailer has finally debuted online!

Here’s a synopsis of what is to come in season 3: Set in the 90s, when the globalization of the drug business ignites, Season 3 examines the war that breaks out after Felix’s arrest. As newly independent cartels struggle to survive political upheaval and escalating violence, a new generation of Mexican kingpins emerge. But in this war, truth is the first casualty – and every arrest, murder and take-done only pushes real victory further away…

Scoot McNairy, José Maria Yazpik, Alberto Ammann, Alfonso Dosal, Mayra Hermosillo, Matt Letscher, Manuel Masalva, Alejandro Edda and Gorka Lasaosa will all return for season three.

The third season debuts on Friday, November 5th.

'Narcos: Mexico' Renewed for Season 3 with Two Major Changes

Narcos: Mexico has officially been renewed for a third season – with some major changes.

First, star Diego Luna will not be returning to the show after his character was sentenced to prison for his drug trafficking at the end of season two. Second, co-creator and long-time collaborator, Carlo Bernard, will take over showrunner duties from Eric Newman.

Eric said in a statement, “I am grateful for my five years at the helm of Narcos and Narcos: Mexico and am immensely proud of what this spectacular team has achieved with these shows. Carlo Bernard is the first person I ever spoke to about this project, over ten years ago, and I am extremely pleased to leave the steering of Season 3 of Narcos: Mexico in his very capable hands.”
