Amy Adams & Julianne Moore Look Stunning at 'Dear Evan Hansen' Premiere With Amandla Stenberg

Amy Adams and Julianne Moore hit the blue carpet for the premiere of their new film, Dear Evan Hansen, held at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Wednesday night (September 22) in Los Angeles.

The two actresses were joined by their co-stars including Amandla Stenberg, Colton Ryan, Isaac Powell, Nik Dodani, Swift Rice, Liz Kate, Danny Pino, and DeMarius Copes.

Dear Evan Hansen centers on the title character who embarks on a journey of self-discovery when a letter he wrote for a writing exercise falls into the hands of a grieving couple whose son took his own life.

The movie will be out in theaters on Friday, September 24.

Ben Platt & Julianne Moore Kick Off TIFF 2021 at 'Dear Evan Hansen' World Premiere!

The cast of Dear Evan Hansen is on the red carpet for the film’s world premiere!

Ben Platt, Julianne Moore, and more were in attendance for the film’s premiere as part of the 2021 Toronto International Film Festival‘s opening night on Thursday (September 9) at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Canada.

Also at the premiere were co-stars Amandla Stenberg, Colton Ryan, Nik Dodani, and Danny Pino, as well as director Stephen Chbosky and writer Steven Levensen.

The upcoming movie musical, based on the Tony-winning Broadway show, will be released in theaters on September 24. The movie stars Ben, reprising his role from Broadway, as an anxious, isolated high schooler aching for understanding and belonging amid the chaos and cruelty of the social-media age.

'Dear Evan Hansen' Movie Gets Release Date, Will Hit Theaters This Year!

A release date has been announced for the upcoming Dear Evan Hansen movie!

Ben Platt is reprising his Tony-winning role from the Broadway musical in the film adaptation of the stage show.

Also featured in the cast are Kaitlyn Dever as Zoe Murphy, Julianne Moore as Heidi Hansen, Amy Adams as Cynthia Murphy, Danny Pino as Larry Murphy, Colton Ryan as Connor Murphy, Amandla Stenberg as Alana Beck, and Nik Dodani as Jared Kleinman.

Stephen Chbosky, the author of the book “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” and the director of that book’s film adaptation, is directing the movie.

Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, who already won a Tony Award for the show’s music, have written a new song with Amandla for her character, who didn’t have a solo in the stage version.

The movie is hitting theaters on September 24, 2021.

Colton Ryan to Reprise 'Dear Evan Hansen' Role in Movie, Nik Dodani Also Joins Cast!

Colton Ryan, one of the original cast members of the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen, has joined the upcoming film adaptation!

The 25-year-old actor, who currently stars in the Apple TV+ series Little Voice, was the understudy for Evan, Jared, and Connor on Broadway.

Colton will be playing the role of Connor, a troubled a high school senior, in the movie, according to Deadline.

It was also announced that Nik Dodani, best known for his role on the Netflix series Atypical, will be playing the role of Jared, Evan’s family friend.

Ben Platt will be reprising his Tony, Grammy, and Emmy-winning work as Evan Hansen alongside Kaitlyn Dever as his love interest Zoe Murphy and Amandla Stenberg as overachieving student Alana Beck.

Jake McDorman will join the cast of Murphy Brown!

The Limitless star will appear in the upcoming CBS 13-episode series revival of the classic comedy upon its 30th anniversary, Variety confirms.

Atypical star Nik Dodani will also be joining the cast.

Jake will play Avery, Murphy’s millennial journalist son who is following in his mother’s footsteps, perhaps too closely, and has his mother’s competitive spirit and quick wit. Nik will play Pat, the director of social media for the news show who is tasked with bringing Murphy and the gang into the 21st century.

Original cast members Candice Bergen, Faith Ford, Joe Regalbuto and Grant Shaud will reprise their roles.
