Ryan Gosling is sharp in a white suit while hitting the red carpet ahead of the opening ceremony and premiere screening of his film First Man held during the 2018 Venice Film Festival at Sala Grande on Wednesday (August 29) in Venice, Italy.

The 37-year-old actor was joined at the event by his co-stars Claire Foy, Jason Clarke and Olivia Hamilton, as well as director Damien Chazelle and screenwriter Josh Singer.

In case you didn’t know: Damien, who worked with Ryan in the 2016 film La La Land, is currently engaged to Olivia.

Ryan Gosling happily flashes a smile alongside his co-star Claire Foy while attending the photo call for his upcoming film First Man held during the 2018 Venice Film Festival at Sala Casino on Wednesday (August 29) in Venice, Italy.

The 37-year-old actor and Claire, 34, were joined at the event by their other cast mates Jason Clarke and Olivia Hamilton, as well as director Damien Chazelle and screenwriter Josh Singer.

Ryan portrays astronaut Neil Armstrong in the film, which chronicles his journey to become the first man on the moon – Watch the brand new trailer below!

“Full disclosure, I’m a Canadian, so this might be some form of cognitive dissonance, but I think this achievement was widely regarded not as an American, but as a human achievement, and that’s how we chose to view it,” Ryan said at the press conference (via THR). “I don’t think Neil viewed himself as an American hero, quite the opposite. Neil was someone who was extremely humble, as were many of these astronauts… the way we made the film was to honor the way Neil viewed himself.”

Rooney Mara and boyfriend Joaquin Phoenix hit the red carpet separate for the premiere of their new movie Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Away on Foot on Wednesday night (July 11) at the ArcLight Hollywood Theater in Hollywood, Calif.

The co-stars and real-life couple looked stylish in coordinating black outfits as they were joined at the premiere by their co-star Jack Black and director Gus Van Sant.

Damien Chazelle is officially engaged to the “love of his life” Olivia Hamilton!

The 32-year-old La La Land director popped the question and Olivia shared the great news on her Instagram, showing off the ring.

Damien‘s fiance is an actress and Princeton graduate who previously worked for Goldman Sachs and McKinsey & Co.

Olivia even played a small part in La La Land, where she can be seen opposite Emma Stone as an annoyed cafe customer.

During Damien‘s acceptance speech for best director at the Critics Choice Awards last year, he gave Olivia a sweet shout out, calling her the “love of his life.”

Congratulations to Damien and Olivia!
