Once Upon a Time in Wonderland has unfortunately been canceled by ABC after just one season on the air.

While it is upsetting that we won’t get another season of the show, it was originally envisioned as a miniseries to bridge the gap between seasons of the main Once Upon a Time series, according to THR.

The fantasy series aired in ABC’s very troubled 8pm slot on Thursday nights where a new series has not been successful since Ugly Betty vacated the time slot back in 2009.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland starred Sophie Lowe, Michael Socha, Emma Rigby, Peter Gadiot, and Naveen Andrews. We sure can’t wait to find out what they will be up to next!

Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas hit the red carpet at the 2013 Entertainment Weekly Comic-Con Celebration held at Float at the Hard Rock Hotel on Saturday evening (July 20) in San Diego, Calif.

The on-and-off-screen couple was joined by Once Upon a Time co-stars Emilie de Ravin and Lana Parrilla at the event.

The stars of spin-off series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland were also in attendance, including Sophie Lowe, Peter Gadiot, Emma Rigby, Michael Socha, and Naveen Andrews.

FYI: Ginnifer is wearing a Vionnet dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, CB Luxe rings, and Isharya jewels. Peter wore a G-Star sweater. Josh is wearing Joe’s pants.

Peter Gadiot, Emma Rigby, Sophie Lowe, Naveen Andrews, and Michael Socha walk down the press line for the Once Upon a Time in Wonderland panel held during 2013 Comic-Con on Saturday (July 20) at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel in San Diego, Calif.

It was announced during the panel that Naveen was joining the show as the villain Jafar.

It was revealed that the mission of the series will be to “to tell within this first season, a complete, close-ended story. By the end of the Season 1, this particular story will be concluded,” co-creator Adam Horowitz said (via TV Line).

Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas walk the blue carpet at the Disney Media Networks International Upfront on Sunday (May 19) at the Walt Disney Studios Lot in Los Angeles.

The on-and-off-screen couple were joined at the event by their Once Upon a Time co-star Emilie de Ravin.

Also attending the event were the stars of the show’s spinoff Once Upon a Time in Wonderland – Sophie Lowe and Peter Gadiot!

Meghan Ory, who left Once Upon a Time this season, was joined at the upfront by her new Intelligence co-stars Josh Holloway and Marg Helgenberger.

ABC has just revealed that they have picked up the series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, the spinoff of the hit fantasy series Once Upon a Time!

The first photo for the series featuring Sophie Lowe as Alice has also been revealed, in addition to the show’s official synopsis.

Other shows that have been picked up include the Rebel Wilson comedy Super Fun Night and other comedies The Goldbergs, Back in the Game, Trophy Wife (starring Malin Akerman), and Mixology (produced by Ryan Seacrest).

The dramas that have been picked up are Mind Games, Killer Women, Resurrection, Lucky 7, Betrayal, and the previously mention Once spinoff.
