New 'Wonder Woman 1984' Trailer Reveals Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah!

The brand new trailer for the upcoming DC Universe movie Wonder Woman 1984 has arrived and it features the most extended look yet of Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah!

The trailer made its debut during a DC Fandome panel in which the main cast members – Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Pedro Pascal, and Kristen – made an appearance alongside director Patty Jenkins.

The movie is currently scheduled to hit theaters on October 2 after being delayed due to the pandemic.

The official synopsis for the sequel is a very brief one: “Fast forward to the 1980s as Wonder Woman’s next big screen adventure finds her facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah.”

During the panel, Patty said, “We all worked so hard to bring something that would be a big visual spectacular. So we’re going to stick it out — we believe in putting it in the cinema. I can’t wait for the movie to come out soon!“

The trailer for another one of Gal‘s movies was released just three days ago.

Patty Jenkins Says 'Wonder Woman 3' Likely to Be the Last in Franchise

Wonder Woman is coming to an end.

Director Patty Jenkins opened up about the fate of the Gal Gadot-led superhero franchise in an interview with Geek, via ComingSoon.

The sequel to the first Wonder Woman movie of the franchise, Wonder Woman 1984, is still set to hit theaters on October 2.

WW84 gave me a chance to do a lot of things that I couldn’t accommodate in the first movie. I was so happy to tell the Wonder Woman origin story. It was almost her birth, but we really haven’t seen what she is capable of. It is exciting for me to show her at the peak of her strength. But it is also very important that she fights an internal struggle: she is a Goddess and tries to help humanity. She is not only someone who fights evil, she tries to show bad people how to improve. It’s an interesting dilemma. The next one is probably my last Wonder Woman movie, so I have to put everything I want to show there. We have to think carefully,” Patty explained to the outlet.

Gal Gadot and Kristen Wiig, the stars of Wonder Woman 1984, recently revealed that it “isn’t really” a sequel. See what they said!

While she didn’t say if Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) and Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal) are looking to get their hands on some sort of object, but Patty did dish on why Barbara turns into Cheetah.

“What makes Barbara turn into Cheetah is feeling like she’s never been as good as someone like Diana,” Patty explained. “She reminds me of certain people I’ve known who have such low self-confidence, that they’re always holding themselves back. Then once they start to embrace change, out comes this ugly resentment built up over all those years.”

Patty Jenkins Reveals Why She Decided Not To Direct 'Thor: The Dark World'

Patty Jenkins could’ve been the director of Thor: The Dark World, but she decided it wasn’t for her.

The 48-year-old director opened up about passing on the project because the script wasn’t very good.

“You can’t do movies you don’t believe in,” she shared with Vanity Fair in a new interview. “I did not believe that I could make a good movie out of the script that they were planning on doing.”
