The new series Berlin is almost here and we’re so excited for the Money Heist spinoff to arrive!

The spinoff show is a prequel to the smash hit series and focuses on an earlier period in Berlin’s life. Pedro Alonso, who played the character in Money Heist, is back for the new show.

During his glory days, Berlin and a gang assembled in Paris for one of his greatest plans ever: stealing 44 million euros’ worth of jewels in one night.

Two more Money Heist actors are returning for the spinoff while five new stars have joined the franchise. The show will drop at 3am ET on Friday (December 29) on Netflix.

Berlin is coming!

The prequel to Money Heist (La casa de papel) follows the extraordinary heists carried out by Pedro Alonso‘s Berlin character before the events of the original series.

On Wednesday (September 28), Netflix revealed the new cast of the Spanish series, as well as character details.

Money Heist creators Esther Martínez Lobato and Álex Pina said the concept of the spinoff series was to take Berlin’s character, “the most sparkling personality” of the original Money Heist, and place it in another universe, via THR.

“We loved the idea of introducing a new gang around Berlin in a completely different emotional state,” they said at a Netflix event.

Pedro Alonso and Tatiana Djordjevic are spending some quality time together!

The 50-year-old Money Heist actor was spotted holding hands with his girlfriend during a walk in Barcelona, Spain on Monday (December 13).

Pedro stepped out in a black jacket with a fur collar, navy pants and sneakers, while Tatiana bundled up in a black belted coat layered over a gray sweater.

Late last month, it was announced that the actor would be starring in a new Money Heist spinoff series, centered around his character Berlin. Netflix also confirmed that a Korean version of the show was in the works, with a very well-known actor set to star.

Money Heist was one of the streaming service’s most popular international series with Part 3, Part 4, and Part 5′s first half having the biggest launches for non-English shows besides Squid Game. Find out which cast member is the most popular amongst fans!

The cast of Money Heist are back together!

Almost all of the full cast gathered up together for an epic group shot during the La Casa De Papel Part 5 Vol.2 launch event held at Palacio de Vista Alegre on Tuesday night (November 30) in Madrid, Spain.

Alvaro Morte, Ursula Corbero, Pedro Alonso, Miguel Herran, Jaime Lorente, Darko Peric, Esther Acebo, Belen Cuesta, Itziar Ituno, Hovik Keuchkerian, Rodrigo de la Serna, Luka Peros, Jose Manuel Poga, Enrique Arce, Paco Tous, Roberto Garcia Ruiz, Mario de la Rosa, Fernando Cayo, and Fernando Soto all gathered with creator Alex Pina to chat about the show’s final season.

But this isn’t the end of Money Heist at all.

Netflix just announced that a spin-off, with Pedro‘s Berlin leading the way, as well as a Korean version, too.

Money Heist is coming to an end.

Netflix announced that its most successful Spanish-language series, also known as Casa de papel, will end with Part 5.

The streaming platform revealed that “The heist comes to an end” in a tweet on their official account on Friday (July 31).

Filming for the fifth and final season is set to begin in Spain, Denmark and Portugal.

Narcos star Miguel Ángel Silvestre and The Invisible Line‘s Patrick Criado are joining the cast, which features Úrsula Coberó (Tokyo), Álvaro Morte (The Professor) , Itziar Ituño (Lisbon) and Pedro Alonso (Berlin) among others.

“We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band. How to put the Professor on the ropes. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel. The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season,” showrunner Alex Pina said.
