Amy Jo Johnson is speaking out.

The 52-year-old actress, who played the Pink Ranger in the original U.S. TV series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, spoke out following the news of the Power Rangers special, set to hit Netflix next month.

“For the record, I never said no…I just didn’t say yes to what was offered,” she clarified back in January.

As Netflix announced their plans for a Power Rangers reunion, many fans were surprised not to see one original stars’ name among those returning – Amy Jo Johnson.

The 52-year-old actress portrayed the original Pink Ranger, Kimberly Hart, in seasons one and two of The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, with the late Jason David Frank and Thuy Trang, Austin St. John, Walter Emanuel Jones and David Yost.

While David and Walter will be back, Amy revealed the reason why she won’t be appearing in the reunion.

Original 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' to Reunite for 'Once & Always' Netflix Special - Find Out Who is Returning & 1 New Star Joining!

The Power Rangers are getting back together!

Several original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers stars are set to reunite for a new 30th anniversary special at Netflix, the streamer confirmed Tuesday (January 17).

The special is called Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, and will be a scripted stand-alone special that finds the troupe facing off against “a familiar threat from the past,” via EW.

It will be airing on April 19.

'Power Rangers' Star Jason David Frank's Cause of Death Confirmed, Wife Clarifies What Happened the Night He Passed Away

Jason David Frank‘s wife Tammie Frank is confirming his cause of death after his tragic death last month at the age of 49.

If you don’t know, Jason played Tommy Oliver in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series back in the early ’90s. He is best known as being the Green Ranger in the first season of the show, only to become the White Ranger later on, becoming the leader of the troupe. He starred as the lead for three seasons, and over 120 episodes.

Jason‘s wife has released a statement in response to multiple reports alleging what actually happened the night of his death.

Jason David Frank, Original 'Power Rangers' Star, Dies at 49

Jason David Frank has sadly died.

The actor, who played Tommy Oliver in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series back in the early ’90s, passed away at the age of 49 in Texas, according to his rep Justine Hart.

“Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrible time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being. He loved his family, friends and fans very much. He will truly be missed,” his rep said in a statement to the outlet.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ it was the result of a suicide.

'Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury' Is Coming in 2023!

Power Rangers is coming back for more!

The 30th season in the Power Rangers franchise – called Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury – will begin filming this fall in New Zealand, and will debut in 2023, Hasbro’s eOne announced on Power Rangers Day (August 28).

The first half of Power Rangers: Dino Fury Season 2 is currently available on Netflix, and the second half of the season will premiere exclusively on Netflix on September 29.

'Power Rangers' Is Getting a Film & TV Reboot!

The Power Rangers are coming back for more action.

It’s the End of the F—ing World creator Jonathan Entwistle will lead the next series of screen adaptations as part of Hasbro’s eOne, THR reported Wednesday (October 21).

The new initiative will “see Entwistle overseeing, and directing, both film and television adaptations.”

Jonathan has an incredible creative vision for this iconic and hugely successful franchise, and is hands down the right architect to join us as we reimagine the television and film worlds of this property. Across our slate, we are looking forward to working with the most talented storytellers as we take on Hasbro’s rich fan-favourite brands and build entertainment universes around them,” eOne’s film president Nick Meyer and global television president Michael Lombardo said in a joint statement.

“This is an unbelievable opportunity to deliver new Power Rangers to both new and existing generations of awaiting and adoring fans. We’ll bring the spirit of analog into the future, harnessing the action and storytelling that made this brand a success,” said Jonathan.

Power Rangers was a ’90s TV series initially called The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, using footage from a Japanese children’s show. The show first aired on Fox Kids, along with a movie in 1995.

In 2017, Lionsgate rebooted the franchise for a film.
