King Charles III Leads Royal Family To Committal Service For Queen Elizabeth II

King Charles III stands with his siblings as they take a moment ahead of the Commital Service for Queen Elizabeth II on Monday (September 19) in London, England.

Anne, Princess Royal, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex and Forfar were also joined by many other members of their family, including Prince William and his son, Prince George of Wales, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.

Peter Phillips, and Sir Timothy Laurence, Princess Anne‘s son and husband, were also seen waiting for The Queen‘s casket to arrive for the private ceremony.

The committal service was held at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, and took place following the state funeral at Westminster Abbey. A private burial in The King George VI Memorial Chapel followed.

If you’re unaware, a committal service is a short ceremony that takes place at the end of the funeral, and is also where you say your final goodbye to your loved one before they are buried or cremated.

Royal Family Medals Explained: Military Uniforms & Titles of Queen's Relatives Revealed

Queen Elizabeth‘s memorial services are forging ahead, with her state funeral set to occur on Monday (September 19).

Following the late monarch’s passing on September 8, the royal family has been participating in various services, vigils and customs to honor the late royal.

The newly appointed King Charles and other senior members of the Royal Family have been pictured wearing military uniforms, with many different medals featured on their outfits.

Prince Harry and Prince Andrew, who are both no longer working royals, were both allowed to wear their uniforms for the Queen’s lying-in-state vigils.

We’ve put together all of the Queen’s children and grandchildren and explained their military service and medals featured on their outfits.

Find out what all of their medals mean…

Queen Elizabeth's Four Children Stand Vigil at Her Coffin for 'Vigil of the Princes,' Exception Made for Andrew

The four children of the late Queen Elizabeth came together for the “Vigil of the Princes” while her coffin lies in state.

King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward surrounded the coffin on all four sides and stood vigil for about 15 minutes on Friday night (September 16) at Westminster Hall in London, England.

The children joined the King’s Body Guards to ceremoniously protect the coffin while it lies in state ahead of the Queen’s funeral on Monday.

A special exception was made for Andrew so he could wear his military uniform during the vigil. He is no longer a working member of the royal family, but he was allowed to wear the uniform as a sign of respect for the late Queen. He was stripped of his military titles and royal patronages after being accused of sexual assault.

Joining the children were Camilla Queen Consort, Edward’s wife Sophie, and other members of the royal family.

Prince Harry Didn't Salute Queen Elizabeth’s Coffin Procession - Here's Why

The services in honor of Queen Elizabeth II continue.

On Wednesday (September 14), Prince Harry and Prince Andrew were among the attendees of the casket’s procession.

Notably, the two wore morning suits instead of their military uniforms.

King Charles III, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Prince William were all in their military attire as the procession traveled from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, and they saluted the national memorial.

Here’s why Prince Harry didn’t…
