Hulu Renews 'Ramy' for a Third Season

Ramy Youssef‘s hit Hulu series Ramy has been renewed for a third season!

The 29-year-old actor and comedian won the Golden Globe for his work on the show and he’s expected to be nominated for an Emmy Award later this year.

The series follows first-generation, Egyptian-American Ramy Hassan (Youssef) who is on a spiritual journey in his politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood. Ramy brings a new perspective to the screen as it explores the challenges of what it’s like to be caught between a religious community who believes life is a moral test, and a millennial generation that doubts an afterlife even exists. In the second season, Ramy delves further into his spiritual journey, finding a new Muslim community and embracing a deeper commitment to his faith.

Ramy not only stars in the series, he also is the writer, executive producer, and creator!

It was recently revealed that a big star was supposed to guest star on the show, but then it didn’t happen and she was replaced by an adult film star.

Tessa Thompson Reveals She Didn't Get a Call Back After Auditioning for 'Westworld' - Watch! (Video)

Tessa Thompson is talking Westworld.

The 36-year-old actress sat down for a conversation with Ramy Youssef as part of Variety‘s Actors on Actors series.

During their conversation, Tessa opened up about her experience auditioning for the hit HBO show.

“I joined Westworld at the end of Season 1. I sent in an audition tape for the pilot. I was trying to figure out how to play a robot, and then I didn’t get a call back. I never heard anything about it. Much later, there was this chance to play a human on the show. My first scenes were with Jeffrey Wright and with Anthony Hopkins. It felt surreal to occupy this space where I had the power over them. That was bizarre,” she reflected.

She also addressed what’s ahead for her character – and having sex with a robot.

“I had broad ideas: ‘What does power look like in the future, in a young woman of color?’ But the only thing I knew is that I would potentially have sex with a robot. We talked about this woman sampling the merchandise in the park — that would be her expression of power. I continue not to know where the show’s going to take me,” she said.

Westworld creators recently revealed that this character is gone after the Season 3 finale.

Lindsay Lohan Was Supposed To Guest Star On Hulu's 'Ramy' - Here's Why It Didn't Happen

There were plans for Lindsay Lohan to appear on the new season of Ramy, but it didn’t end up happening.

Ramy Youssef told Entertainment Weekly that the plans were nixed when she just stopped communicating with him.

“We had an idea that it wasn’t just her, but we were interested in this idea of people that you don’t really think are Muslim,” Ramy shared. “We actually cast Lindsay Lohan, because Lindsay had this whole thing about converting to Islam. And so we had cast Lindsay and I talked to her and she was down, and then, you know, like Lindsay does, we just kind of stopped hearing from her.”

He continued, laughing at the predicament, “I was trying to get ahold of her and she was on the call sheet, and I guess she couldn’t make it. I don’t know, I never heard from her.”

Ramy did add that the door is still open for her to guest star in season three though.

Ramy, the series, is set to return on Hulu on Friday.

Just recently, Lindsay shared some advice for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex about their move to Los Angeles.
