Robert Downey, Jr. is an Oscar winner!

The 58-year-old Marvel star won the Best Supporting Actor award for his work in Oppenheimer at the 2024 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 10) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

“I would like to thank my terrible childhood and the Academy, in that order,” Robert said in his acceptance speech.

The 58-year-old Oppenheimer actor hit the red carpet alongside wife Susan Downey at the 2024 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 10) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Robert is nominated for his role as Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer in the category of Best Supporting Actor. The movie itself leads the pack in nominations, with 13 nods.

Oppenheimer was without a doubt one of the biggest movies of 2023, and that was thanks in large part to its incredibly star-studded (and very wealthy) cast.

The historical drama has been an awards show darling through the season and is going into the 2024 Oscars as the most-nominated picture with 13 nods to its name. In fact, three members of the cast are up for some of the biggest honors of the night – Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor.

With so much attention on the movie, we got curious about which of its many stars was the wealthiest. We did some digging and looked up the estimated net worth of each of the most notable actors and ranked them.

It’s mostly a close ranking, but the star who comes in at the top spot beats out the closest competition by more than $100 million!

The longtime friends and Marvel stars reunited at the Saint Laurent x Vanity Fair x NBCUniversal Dinner and Cocktail Party on Friday night (March 8) in Los Angeles.

The party was held to celebrate Oppenheimer and RDJ attended the event alongside co-stars Cillian Murphy, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, and Alex Wolff along with director Christopher Nolan.
