A new show based on the 1999 cult-classic film Galaxy Quest is currently in development at Paramount+.

The original film was a spoof and parody of Star Trek and its fandom. Paramount+ is currently home to five original Star Trek series.

The original film starred Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Tony Shalhoub, and Sam Rockwell.

Rickman, who also starred in Harry Potter, passed away in 2016 due to pancreatic cancer.

The proposed TV series was originally being developed with the original cast at Amazon in 2015, before Rickman passed away.

Galaxy Quest was the feature-film debut for both Justin Long and Rainn Wilson.

The new TV series is executive produced by the film’s producer Mark Johnson, per Deadline.

Galaxy Quest grossed over $90 million at the box office and gaining cult-classic status as it received support from many Star Trek actors and fans alike.

Paramount+ is also developing Star Trek: Section 31, an original movie in which the Everything Everywhere All at Once actress Michelle Yeoh will reprise her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou, a character she first played in Star Trek: Discovery Season 1.

The upcoming Searchlight Pictures movie See How They Run has been given a release date and the first photos have been revealed!

Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan lead the ensemble cast, that also includes Adrien Brody, Ruth Wilson, Reece Shearsmith, Harris Dickinson, Charlie Cooper, Shirley Henderson, Lucian Msamati, Pippa Bennett Warner, Pearl Chanda, Paul Chahidi, Sian Clifford, Jacob Fortune Lloyd, Tim Key, Ania Marson, and David Oyelowo.

Here is the synopsis: “In the West End of 1950s London, plans for a movie version of a smash-hit play come to an abrupt halt after a pivotal member of the crew is murdered. When world-weary Inspector Stoppard (Rockwell) and eager rookie Constable Stalker (Ronan) take on the case, the two find themselves thrown into a puzzling whodunit within the glamorously sordid theater underground, investigating the mysterious homicide at their own peril.”

The movie will be released exclusively in theaters on September 30.

Sam Rockwell shows off some of his cool dance moves with host Ariana DeBose at the 2022 Tony Awards on Sunday (June 12) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

The 53-year-old actor, who is nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for American Buffalo, was pulled out of his seat by Ariana and shared a little dance with her inside the venue.

Ahead of showing off his movies, Sam walked the red carpet with partner Leslie Bibb, and co-star Laurence Fishburne.

Mary-Louise Parker got some great news this week!

After receiving a Tony nomination for her work in the play How I Learned to Drive, it was just announced that the play has been given a two-week extension and is now running through June 12.

Mary-Louise and co-star David Morse celebrated their nominations at the 2022 Tony Awards Meet the Nominees Press Event on Thursday (May 12) at Sofitel in New York City.

MLP is up for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play and she was joined at the event by the four other women in her category – The Skin of Our Teeth‘s Gabby Beans, Trouble in Mind‘s LaChanze, Macbeth‘s Ruth Negga, and Dana H‘s Deirdre O’Connell.

David is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play and he was joined at the event by category mates Sam Rockwell for American Buffalo and Ruben Santiago-Hudson for Lackawanna Blues.

Also in attendance were Supporting Actor nominees Alfie Allen for Hangmen and Chuck Cooper for Trouble in Mind, as well as Featured Actress nominees Uzo Aduba and Kara Young for Clyde’s, Kenita R. Miller for For Colored Girls, and Phylicia Rashad for Skeleton Crew.

Sam Rockwell is opening up about his new Broadway show!

On Monday night (April 18), the 53-year-old Oscar-winning actor stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to chat about his play American Buffalo, which he stars in alongside Laurence Fishburne and Darren Criss.

The play was originally supposed to open in March 2020, but it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It started its 16-week limited engagement on April 14.

Darren Criss, who just welcomed his first child into the world three days ago, is celebrating the opening of his Broadway play American Buffalo!

The 35-year-old actor and his co-stars Sam Rockwell and Laurence Fishburne took their opening night bows in front of a star-studded crowd at the Circle in the Square Theatre on Thursday (April 14) in New York City.

In American Buffalo, three small time hustlers want a bigger cut of the American dream. David Mamet’s classic about loyalty and greed returns to Broadway more explosive and pointed than ever, exposing a timely American truth: crime and business are two sides of the same coin.

Stars in attendance at the event included Sam‘s partner Leslie Bibb, as well as Angela Bassett, Josh Brolin, Bryan Cranston, Billy Crudup, Tony Goldwyn, Piper Perabo, Anthony Anderson, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Louisa Jacobson, Marin Ireland, Camryn Manheim, Callie Thorne, and Broadway star Victoria Clark.

The limited run is open through July 10.
