Sam Simon has died at the age of 59, his reps confirmed to Variety.
The nine-time Emmy winner co-created The Simpsons and passed away on Sunday (March 8) at his home in Los Angeles after a battle with colorectal cancer.
In addition to his work on The Simpsons, Sam was a producer on both Taxi and Cheers and won some of his Emmys for being an executive producer on The Tracey Ullman Show.
Sam was married to actress Jennifer Tilly from 1984 to 1991 and Playboy Playmate Jami Ferrell from 2000 to 2003. He is survived by his current partner Jenna Stewart.
