We’ve gathered every official statement released from various sources and individuals about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s car chase.
If you don’t know, on Tuesday night (May 16), the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with her mom Doria Ragland, left an event and say they were involved in a car chase with photographers.
The statement released by their rep states, “Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi. This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD (New York Police Department) officers. While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety. Dissemination of these images, given the ways in which they were obtained, encourages a highly intrusive practice which is dangerous to all involved.”
Now, a photographer involved is speaking out, one member of the Sussex security team has released a statement, a cab driver who briefly transported them broke his silence, and Backgrid, the celebrity photo agency that acquired some of the photos, has also released an official statement.
