It’s Thanksgiving, which means it’s time to start preparing delicious dishes to bring to the dinner table with friends and family.
And there’s a lot more to Thanksgiving than the turkey: according to Campbell’s inaugural State of the Sides report, 66% of people prefer side dishes to the main entree, and half of the country would be happy with only sides on their plate.
Using consumer data from a nationwide survey on holiday dishes and seasonal topics, Campbell’s put together a report that determined the most popular choices during the festive season – including the side dishes at Thanksgiving.
Most people will opt for an average of five sides for their plate, according to the report.

The 2022 Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City will be aired on multiple networks, including CBS!
The network will be airing a special live from a Sixth Avenue site along the parade route. The beloved parade is famous for its gigantic balloons of cartoon character favorites, fantastic floats and lively marching bands from across the country.
While the parade is known nationally as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, only NBC airs that version of the parade and a different set of performers will be seen on that broadcast!
CBS’ version of the parade will be hosted by Entertainment Tonight‘s Kevin Frazier and TV personality and author Keltie Knight.
The special will air from 9am – 12pm ET and 1pm – 4pm PT on CBS. It will also stream live on Paramount+.
