The Band Perry is officially breaking up.

The music band composed of siblings Kimberly Perry, Reid Perry, and Neil Perry announced they will be taking a “creative break” as a group.

The Band Perry released their self-titled debut album in 2010.

“If I Die Young,” a single from that album, reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs and Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks charts.

“We wanted to let you know that the three of us have decided to take a creative break as a group and each focus on our individual creative pursuits,” the group said in a statement. “During this season we will continue to support each other as artists and family in all we do. Thank you for making our childhood dreams come true!”

The statement was signed by the three siblings.

In 2021, Kimberly Perry took to social media to reveal that she and fellow musician Johnny Costello secretly married six months prior.

Kimberly Perry‘s ex J.P. Arencibia is speaking out following the release of The Band Perry‘s new infidelity track “The Good Life.”

The musical group dropped the song, about moving on after dealing with cheating, on Friday (July 12).

“Tonight on the eve of my birthday and of the release of THE GOOD LIFE I have a few things to say,” Kimberly Perry shared on Instagram. “THE GOOD LIFE is a story about the infidelity I experienced. I want you to know that this song was written during a toxic and incredibly difficult time in my life, but I’m singing it to you now with the voice of a woman who has completely regained a strong sense of self, rebuilt her womanhood, and is grateful to have learned so much.”

“The lyrics in this song are visceral and strong, just as the feelings have been,” she continued. “I feel empowered by them. I hope they empower you to know your value, and if you find yourself in an environment where someone makes you feel disrespected and degraded, I want you to know that you deserve so much more. It’s ok that things don’t go as planned and it’s also ok to not have a new plan yet.”

“And for those who who tell lies, who take advantage of others’ trust and dignity – DO BETTER,” she added. “I’m so grateful to be here and to blow out candles celebrating another year in my good life. Thank you for caring about my story and for listening. The song coming out tonight is one I needed to make to remind myself that my life is not defined by one ugly situation, my body is not diminished by one uninterested person, and my self worth is not determined by anyone else’s words or behavior. Neither is yours.”

The Band Perry are ready to make a musical transformation!

The three-piece sibling band just debuted their newest single “Stay in the Dark,” off of their first pop album My Bad Imagination.

“Creatively ‘Stay In The Dark’ brings forward some of the elements we’ve always been known for as The Band Perry, while introducing our fans to all the new sounds we’ve been working with,” Neil Perry explained.

Kimberly Perry added, “As we’ve been thinking about our transition from our last two albums to this one, I’ve interpreted lyrics more as metaphor with ‘I just want to stay in the dark’ meaning I want to stay romantic, imaginative and naïve. I want to believe in what I can’t see. I want to keep walking forward. Chances and bold moves are always the ones that carry you the furthest in life – and for most of us we’ve got to ignore the naysayers and just take the leap.”

With the new song, the band also debuted a new edgier look, which the band kicked off with a photo shoot with legendary fashion photographer Steven Klein.

The evening’s honorees include Crystal Gayle, Tanya Tucker and The Statler Brothers who will be given the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award that honors individuals who are pioneers in the country music genre.

Other honorees include Miranda, who will receive the inaugural ACM Merle Haggard Spirit Award; Carrie Underwood, who will be given the ACM Lifting Lives Gary Haber Award; Glen Campbell, who will receive the Career Achievement Award; and Keith Urban, who will be given the Mae Boren Axton Award.

The 2016 ACM Honors will air at 8PM EST on Friday (September 9) on CBS!

The Band Perry is back with a brand new single titled “Comeback Kid” and you can watch the lyric video right here!

The track serves as the second official single off the three siblings – Kimberly, Neil, and Reid – upcoming third album, tentatively titled Heart + Beat, which is set to be released later this year.

Carrie Underwood hits the stage for her performance at the 2016 Stagecoach Country Music Festival held at Empire Polo Club on Saturday (April 30) in Indio, Calif.
