Christine Baranski stops to smell a giant flower in the brand new look for The Good Fight‘s final season.

Here’s a summary for the upcoming season: Diane (Baranski) feels like she’s going crazy, struggling with an uneasy sense of déjà vu, with the overturning of Roe v. Wade, to voting rights, to Cold War aggressions returning.

Meanwhile, the lawyers of Reddick & Associates wonder if the violence that they see all around them points to an impending civil war.

The Good Fight also stars John Slattery, Sarah Steele, Michael Boatman, Nyambi Nyambi, Charmaine Bingwa, with Audra McDonald and Andre Braugher.

The series will return on Thursday, Septmber 8 on Paramount+. The final season was announced earlier this year.

The Good Fight is coming to an end.

THR writes that the six season of The Good Wife spinoff, which was announced back in 2021, will be its last.

The Good Fight will be back for a sixth season!

The Paramount+ original series is currently in the middle of airing its fifth season and the streaming service just announced that it has been renewed for yet another season.

In the fifth season, Diane (Christine Baranski) is forced to question whether it’s appropriate for her to help run an African American law firm with Liz (Audra McDonald) when the firm loses two top lawyers. Meanwhile, Marissa (Sarah Steele) and the firm become entangled with Hal Wackner (Mandy Patinkin), a regular Chicagoan who decides to open his own courtroom in the back of a copy shop.

The cast of The Good Fight also includes Michael Boatman, Nyambi Nyambi, Zach Grenier, and Charmaine Bingwa.

“The Good Fight‘s provocative, whip smart, and no-holds-barred world remains as relevant as ever, continuing to entice new audiences as one of Paramount+’s top performing original series and acquisition drivers,” said Nicole Clemens, President, Paramount+ Original Scripted Series. “We are thrilled to continue The Good Fight’s enduring legacy with a sixth season and can’t wait to see what the brilliant minds behind the series, Robert and Michelle King, tackle next.”

The first four episodes of The Good Fight season five are currently available on Paramount+ with the additional six episodes debuting weekly on Thursdays.

The Good Fight is bringing back two stars who departed last season.

Paramount+ announced this week that Cush Jumbo and Delroy Lindo will be back on the new season to give their characters, Lucca and Adrian, a proper goodbye.

“We couldn’t be more grateful that Delroy and Cush will be returning in season 5 to finish off their arcs,” showrunners Robert and Michelle King shared in a statement to TVLine. “We adore the actors and their characters, and are delighted to give the audience a chance to say a proper goodbye.”

Their returns in season five will finish out their characters’ storylines.

Cush opened up about leaving the show last May, saying that she’s “had the most amazing time over the last five years working with Robert, Michelle and the crews of both The Good Wife and The Good Fight.”

She added that she was “so excited to explore pastures new.”

The Good Fight season five has yet to set a return date, and was one of the shows shut down early due to the pandemic.

Cush Jumbo has left her series The Good Fight after four seasons.

The 34-year-old actress started playing Lucca Quinn in the final season of CBS’ The Good Wife and then she became one of the leads on the spinoff for CBS All Access.

The fourth season of The Good Fight was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic. The seventh episode, which premiered this week, is now serving as the finale and Luca’s storyline was unable to be wrapped up.

“I have had the most amazing time over the last five years working with Robert, Michelle and the crews of both The Good Wife and The Good Fight. I will miss them all so much, but am so excited to explore pastures new. Due to the pandemic forcing us to shut down early we weren’t able to wrap up Lucca’s story fully and so I hope if schedules allow I can return next season to do that,” Cush said in a statement to TV Line.

We sure hope that Cush is able to return in season five to finish Lucca’s storyline!

Delroy Lindo, who plays Adrian Boseman, is also leaving the show ahead of season five.

We have some good news and some bad news for fans of The Good Fight.

First for the good news, CBS All Access has announced that the show has been renewed for an upcoming fifth season. The bad news is that the current fourth season is being cut short and will end after the seventh episode.

Season four was intended to have 10 episodes, but the final three episodes could not be made because of the pandemic. The season will end on Thursday, May 28.

“It’s been weird to not be able to finish the fourth season,” said series creators Robert and Michelle King. “It left the story in even more absurd a place than usual. So we’re thrilled that CBS All Access wants to bring The Good Fight back for an additional season, and we know what story we’re planning to tell. It’s like getting the answers to the SAT ahead of time.”

CBS All Access just sold a series to The CW to be aired later this fall!
