Mario Casas is the hot star of the new Netflix series The Innocent and he’s definitely going to be a star on the rise!

The 34-year-old Spanish actor plays Mateo Vidal, aka Matt in the English-language dubbed version, who is trying to start his live over nine years after accidentally killing a man in a fight.

American audiences probably aren’t too familiar with Mario yet, but he already has a huge following abroad. His Instagram page is followed by 6.5 million people and he has lots of devoted fans.

Two months ago, Mario won the Best Actor award at the 2021 Goya Awards, the Spanish equivalent of the Oscars. He won the award for his performance in the film Cross the Line.

His innocence will be questioned again, this time by Lorena, a police inspector investigating a suicide case.”

Netflix has a brand new Spanish-language series that is guaranteed to be the next great binge – The Innocent!

The new thriller series is based on the Harlan Coben novel of the same name and the eight-episode season was released on the streaming service on April 30.

For those that don’t know, Coben signed a deal with Netflix in 2018 and 14 of his novels are being turned into series. The other ones already streaming include the UK series The Stranger and the Polish series The Woods. The latest series hails from Spain!
